Welcome to episode 266 of the Love Live Connection podcast. This episode originally aired back in 2019, so if you’ve been listening for a while some of this might sound familiar. I know a lot of people experience a dating fizzle where things seem to be going well, then all of the sudden the other person feels a little more distant. Or they don’t want the same thing you want and the relationship fizzles out or just abruptly ends. If you can relate to this, you’re gonna love this episode.

Welcome to episode 265 of the Love Live Connection podcast! I often talk about how some gaslight-y things go on in the world of personal development, but Amy Smith doesn’t do that. I think the way she teaches about communication, vulnerability, and boundaries is her sweet spot. She also inspires me when she talks about her 20+ year marriage, which is why I’ve invited her as a guest today.
If you feel like you don’t have a healthy relationship model to inspire you, then this episode’s for you. Listen to what’s underneath the surface of what she’s saying so you can emulate it with your relationship.
6:36 - Amy gives an overview of her relationship
11:13 - Why her marriage feels freeing instead of restrictive
16:59 - Intimacy and vulnerability as directly related to each other
23:07 - How we can over-glorify relationships these days
27:37 - Amy’s advice on personal growth and development in a relationship
33:32 - Tips for maintaining and daily care-taking of a marriage
42:08 - How Amy and her husband manage conflict in their relationship
47:07 - Communication tips for resolving marital conflicts
51:16 - What you need to do if you want change from your partner

Welcome to episode 264 of the Love Live Connection podcast! My caller today, Amy, has two issues. She keeps finding herself in the same pattern over and over again, settling for people and relationships she knows she doesn’t want long-term. She also has a fear of being in a committed life-long partnership, even though it’s what she desires.
Self-sabotage like this is more common than you think and can happen for several reasons: confirmation bias, over-identification with the part of ourselves we want to change, fear of vulnerability in allowing and receiving, and worry about what others’ think. So keep all of this in mind for today’s coaching call.
7:16 - Amy describes the pattern she keeps repeating
11:14 - What her fear of success is really about
19:25 - An assignment to help her let her light shine
26:37 - Another good exercise for getting in deep with subconscious fears
31:42 - Recapping the coaching call with Amy

Welcome to episode 263 of the Love Live Connection podcast. A lot of advice you hear for getting over an ex comes from not just what we say to each other, but also our pop culture. But it can leave you feeling stuck and thinking it’s impossible to do, or you’ll put yourself in a similar situation in your next relationship. So today’s episode is all about getting over an ex, specifically three mistakes that I find a lot of women make in the process.
10:34 - Mistake #1: a dangerous mindset that gets quoted a lot
15:12 - Mistake #2: distractions and staying in busyness mode
17:56 - Mistake #3: forcing yourself to date again or dating too early

Welcome to episode 262 of the Love Live Connection podcast. Today’s guest, T.J, wants to know that her partner is as serious as she is about commitment. But I need to give a trigger warning: she and I discuss abuse that she’s endured, and her experiences with past abusive relationships affect how she approaches her current relationship.
We don’t go into many details about it, but we do bring it up. So if this is triggering for you, please take care of yourself and don’t listen to this episode. For help with an abusive situation, call 1-800-799-7233 or go to thehotline.org.
8:40 - Walking TJ through a quick ground process
17:46 - Past abusive relationships, childhood bullying, and their effect on TJ

Welcome to episode 261 of the Love Live Connection podcast. I’ve brought clients on the show before and often tell them that you have to reach mini goals along the way to reach the big goal. So it’s not a failure if you’re not in the relationship that’s going to last forever by the time we’re done working together. Sometimes you just need to get the confidence to start dating again and meet real potential partners, or get over an ex.
My guest today, former client Markie, is a really good example. So much of her life has changed, not just in her love life but in other parts of her life too. In this episode, I let her tell you her story.
12:43 - Markie before we started working together
17:10 - How inner child work supported her in achieving her wins
21:00 - The transformational shifts she underwent with online dating

Welcome to episode 260 of the Love Live Connection podcast! Sandra is really struggling with anxiety and forgiving herself for mistakes she’s made in past relationships. She’s also taking the unfair brunt of the blame for her relationships ending. We’re gonna get into why this is happening to her but also get into the bigger picture of wider things at play subconsciously.
It takes a few minutes to get into the meat of this coaching call, but I highly encourage you to hang in there and listen to the whole episode. We cover a lot of ground, unpack a lot of things, and I think it’ll be an incredibly helpful and transformative experience for you.
6:28 - Questions to keep in mind as you listen to this coaching call
10:05 - Sandra recalls her mother’s behavior in relationships

Welcome to episode 259 of the Love Live Connection podcast, How I Found Love Part 6. Previously, I finally fulfilled a dream of living in a big city, had moved to Washington D.C., and was excited to meet a nice Jewish boy. Things were going really well, but then I took a couple of steps back when I found myself crazy about a guy who wined and dined me. The connection wasn’t really there, so he broke up with me and I was really devastated. Thankfully, I got some sense knocked into me by a good friend and pulled myself together. I’d started online dating, and for the first time in my life dating was really fun no matter what happened (or didn’t). Eventually, it all led me to a Happy Hour hosted by my (then) future husband, Stevie.
5:31 - Finally pursuing Stevie a few weeks later
9:31 - Our first date and the possible Tanzanian bump in the road that wasn’t
13:53 - Deciding to move to Dallas together
16:01 - A trip to Denver and a proposal in Boulder I saw coming
