When you’re expecting a new child, it not only changes everything but it also presents a new opportunity.
Being in the dating and relationship business since 2015, I’ve released well over 300 episodes of the Love Life Connection. A couple of months ago, you heard me announce the addition of a second part to my business (relating to money). And at the time, I thought I’d be doing both.
But I’ll be on maternity leave for the birth of my second child... meaning that this podcast will be paused. However, when it resumes, things won’t be the same.
In this episode of the Love Life Connection, you’ll learn about what’s changing with the show (and my business). I’ll tell you everything you need to know about the rebrand happening behind the scenes and how it all affects you.
3:19 - Why this episode feels like a full circle moment
7:01 - My relationship to money and the link between relationship red flags and money fears
9:53 - One thing some law of attraction/money manifesting teachers get right
13:07 - The direction I’m moving in and why I have some fear about it
17:04 - My tentative plan as of now
23:50 - Why it’s important for women to talk about money
I hope you enjoyed this episode! Find me on Instagram, Tik Tok, or email me with your feedback. I look forward to hearing from you!

The high vibe versus low vibe obsession in the self-help world makes me want to throw up. People-pleasers and those who want to take the high road all the time usually act that way because they’ve been conditioned into this whole high vibe/low vibe idea.
It’s a misinterpretation regarding positive energy and positive thinking. But it can lead to a lack of boundaries that leaves you feeling really drained and resentful because you’ve trained people to expect you to always say ‘Yes’ to whatever they ask of you.
So if you struggle with boundaries, are a people pleaser, or think you need to be high vibe all the time, then you're really going to relate to my client and caller Irina’s situation. She’s feeling the pressure of staying high vibe, and it’s created inner turmoil and stress when she’s triggered by people who don’t respect her time and energy.
In this episode of the Love Life Connection podcast, you’ll learn how to respond when others hurt your feelings and exploit your lack of boundaries when you’re trying to stay in a positive mindset. I’ll teach you why you should focus on your state of being instead of emotions from moment to moment, how to change your relationship with a toxic workplace, and what to do about difficult people in your life.
8:46 - The big picture of emotions and your overall state of being
14:27 - What you can do when someone hurts your feelings and you take it personally
19:21 - The only two options you have when you’re in a toxic work environment
21:58 - The common denominator in Irina’s situation (and what she fears may happen by asserting boundaries)
26:20 - A familiar method you can use for people in your life and how to train yourself to set boundaries
34:07 - Breaking down the call with Irina with some key takeaways

Money in your relationship will come up eventually, whether you want it to or not.
When you get ready to move in together or buy a house, you’ll have to decide how you’re going to pay the bills and who’s financially responsible for what. Or one of you might want to put something in your name because one person has good credit while the other doesn’t.
But must you have your financial situation in order before you start dating? That’s not a question with a simple yes or no answer.
So in this episode of the Love Life Connection podcast, you’ll learn about what I think you do and don’t need to have, financially-speaking, before you date. Along the way, I’ll use examples of how me and my husband do things financially to help illustrate what I’m talking about.
4:11 - What you don’t need to have financially before dating or getting into a serious relationship
9:47 - The foundational piece you must have before you’re really ready to be in a serious relationship
11:41 - Having your own financial system in place around spending, saving, and investing
15:18 - The unfair U.S. financial system and what you need to know about your partner financially
20:16 - The more important thing for you to discover about your partner than their salary
21:58 - A consequence of not having your own strong money system
I hope you enjoyed this episode! Find me on Instagram or email me with your feedback. I look forward to hearing from you!

You’ve heard so many cliches about change--“change is good,” “change is painful,” “be the change you want to see in the world,” and on and on. When it comes to relationships, though--especially the long-term kind like marriage--the “ideal” (according to society) is of stability, both externally and internally.
The image of the home, the 2.5 kids, the dog, and the white picket fence has become a cliche itself, as has the idea of couples growing old together and doing the same things they’ve always done. Not everyone desires that path, though, nor does the path or destination to a long-term relationship (in whatever form you want it to take) have to be conventional, either.
You may be able to relate to my old client (and past podcast guest) Antoinette. She last appeared on the Love Life Connection a couple of years ago and since then has gotten a part-time job that takes her around the world. But she feels the lack of a stable, physical address and the internal changes she’s undergone in the meantime makes it harder for her to meet someone and form a long-term relationship.
Her situation seems symbolic of this “post pandemic” world as we embrace new ways of being, living, and working. So in this episode of the Love Life Connection podcast, you’ll hear more about the beliefs underlying Antoinette’s uncertainty and the big transformation she’s undergone over the past couple of years. I’ll reveal how you can unplug from your unwanted beliefs around dating, relationships, and marriage and why change isn’t a bad thing (for you or your relationship).
10:43 - Why Antoinette reframed her desires since her last show appearance
19:26 - Antoinette’s new vantage point and the issue that brings up resistance
26:00 - Why you’re constantly changing (even when you think you aren’t) and why that shouldn’t stop you from dating
30:44 - Practical exercises to uncover and sever limiting beliefs about marriage
33:55 - Why an unconventional career or lifestyle doesn’t need to be an impossible obstacle for a long-term relationship
37:42 - The inner child work trap you don’t want to fall into (especially if you’re a newbie)
45:42 - Recapping the call with Antoinette with a few key reiterations
I hope you enjoyed this episode! Find me on Instagram or email me with your feedback. I look forward to hearing from you!

There’s always something going on in pop culture or the news cycle relating to love and relationships. And for the fourth episode of the month, I usually pick a topic from one or the other, analyze it, and share what I think it can mean for you.
Today on the podcast, you’ll hear me draw from both the news and pop culture wells. The New York Times recently published a piece on couples’ sleeping situations, and Chelsea Handler made a choice that Tucker Carlson and company don’t like very much. And both of them touch on some pretty controversial matters that illustrate a shift in attitudes from more traditional ways of doing things.
So in this episode of the Love Life Connection, you’ll learn about the NYT article claims regarding the bedroom situation for couples and why I disagree with a couple of their conclusions. You’ll also discover the underlying reason for Carlson’s angry reaction to Handler and why it should actually thrill you.
8:30 - What the New York Times article claims and what me, my husband, and some of my friends do
10:41 - The “pink flag” expert consensus and one reason why I don’t buy it
21:10 - Why the NYT’s second argument feels way off, too
26:09 - Tucker Carlson’s reaction to a recent Chelsea Handler appearance in the media
33:24 - What the Handler vs. Carlson exchange really shows on a macro level
37:21 - What Carlson’s reaction means for you and why it’s a good sign that people like him feel threatened
I hope you enjoyed this episode! Find me on Instagram or email me with your feedback. I look forward to hearing from you!

Many women relate to their Bumble account similar to how they relate to their bank account, or so it seems. They don’t want to look at it and are even afraid of logging into it. It touches on core wounds around worthiness and value; they’d rather do something else.
In the same vein, lots of people have misunderstandings when it comes to investing. They think it’s only for rich people or really risky. But it doesn’t have to be.
My caller today, Laura, wants to know how to start investing her money. And while she’s based in Europe, anyone in the world can benefit from our conversation because a lot about your relationship with money doesn’t change regardless of where you live. In addition, you'll discover some similarities between how investing works in the U.S. and other countries.
So in this episode of the Love Life Connection podcast, you’ll learn where to start investing, the difference between retirement accounts and investment funds you can choose, and how to start building your own portfolio. I’ll teach you how to prepare for retirement (and where you can get free money) and use concrete examples to see how investing can work over time.
13:27 - Laura’s beliefs around investing and the type of investments I do and don’t recommend
16:57 - The difference between a pension and a retirement account
19:05 - Why employee retirement benefits are the best deal for most people
21:33 - The difference between a ROTH and a SIPP account
24:50 - What to look for in terms of financial limits on your accounts
27:19 - Why you should ditch the stock shopping idea and go for an index fund instead
30:34 - How index funds are different from (and better than) mutual funds and how to choose one
34:11 - Should you build your own portfolio or let someone else do it?
36:45 - How to access index funds and the disadvantage of setting up a 401(k) at work
40:16 - Quickly recapping the call with Laura
41:13 - Why I buy individual stocks sometimes, even though I don’t typically recommend it
43:21 - My #1 recommended investment bank and the importance of low fees

There’s a problem with a lot of dating and relationship stuff you see on platforms like Instagram...
You’ve probably experienced that light bulb feeling when you resonate with a piece of advice you see online. But you need to apply an extra filter when scrolling through a social media feed, watching a Youtube video, or listening to a podcast episode.
When someone posts something that makes you go “Ah-ha!”, do you ask yourself: Does this apply to me at all? Or does it apply to me in my specific situation right now? A lot of the time, there’s nuances that the content creator doesn’t (and in some cases, can’t) account for which might make their advice inapplicable to you and your circumstance.
But how would you know that for sure? In this episode of the Love Life Connection, you’ll discover three caveats to the usual relationship advice offered out there. I’ll tell you how to know whether or not something applies to you (and why even what I share with you on this show or elsewhere has caveats to it, too).
Along the way, you’ll see examples of bad vs. triggering behaviors, learn one thing I have my clients do when they’re trying to get over an ex, and discover what you can do when faced with a difficult relationship you can’t just easily cut off.
2:24 - The big secret of doing the necessary work to find your person
12:37 - Caveat #1: knowing the difference between a trigger and bad behavior
18:39 - Caveat #2: how your habits and values pair with someone else’s
22:49 - Caveat #3: how you treat a relationship you’ve chosen vs. one you didn’t
27:42 - The tricky part of dealing with difficult relationships you didn’t choose

You can’t exactly replicate someone else’s experience. You have viewpoints, skills, weaknesses, and other things you bring to the table that differ from everyone else. But listening to others who are willing to share their story about what did or didn’t work for them can reveal a nugget you can pull out and apply to your situation.
That’s why I’m so excited to have one of my very first clients ever, Katy, on the Love Life Connection podcast today. Through her sharing her story on this episode, you’ll get a glimpse of what the internal process can look like when I coach you through your dating struggles. And ultimately, you’ll discover just how close you and “the one” might be right now.
1:18 - A big announcement and how it’ll affect working with me in the short-term
18:17 - What Katy’s love life looks like right now and her emotionally unavailability at the beginning stages
25:31 - Why inner child work was still necessary for Katy despite her good relationship with her parents
28:29 - How Katy met Brian (and the surprise they both discovered about their relationship)
32:11 - How Katy knew that he was “the one” and that she was really ready to move forward in her love life
36:45 - What has helped Katy and her relationship the most during our work together
39:04 - Why dating isn’t just about dating
41:58 - What I mean when I say things can happen fast when you do the work
45:23 - The message that really sticks out from this conversation with Katy

What’s your money story?
Do you feel anxious whenever the topic of money comes up in conversation? Does everything seem too expensive to you? Do you scoff at the very idea of investing because you assume you can’t afford it or think it’s too risky? Do you spend every penny when you get it or feel guilty when you spend even on necessary things?
If you’re still playing out a money story that doesn’t serve you anymore, then any spending, saving, or investment plan you come up with will most likely backfire. You’ll have a difficult time sticking with it.
But you can always create a new money story for yourself, and in April you can join in on my two-part masterclass designed to help you do just that. In this episode of Love Life Connection, you’ll get a little preview and learn how budgeting puts you and the wealthy on the same level, why investing your money can be simpler and less scary than it seems, and ways you can give money (beyond charitable contributions) and earn more money on the side.
9:14 - A recap of my money story growing up and how it influenced me as an adult
12:16 - Why I don’t like the money mindset concept and the importance of understanding your money story
19:53 - Why you don’t have to resent having a budget
22:06 - Putting to rest the myth that rich people don’t have budgets
25:34 - Savings and the difference between savings and investments
29:13 - Why investments seem more complicated than they actually are
35:39 - Why investing doesn’t require risking it all or having lots of money upfront to do it
38:10 - Ways you can vote with your dollars (and the real truth about the charitable tax break)
42:44 - Three ways to earn more money and the benefits of having a side income
48:13 - Details on my two-part masterclass coming up next month
