The Christmas season is precious. We embrace giving and receiving gifts and, even if a few scrooge-like attitudes surface here and there, for most, the season just naturally inspires special giving and reaching out to others.

For some, life is very different this year—a loss or struggle, perhaps something unfair that can never be restored. So, we gather around them, to support and comfort and to remind them that when the Lord allows a door to close, He has already begun to open another.

This episode is a reminder. The Bible describes an appointment every born-again Believer has with Jesus Christ. A time described in 2 Corinthians 5:9-11 when each will appear before Him to receive His acknowledgement of the way we lived, specifics of both good or, not so good. It is true that sins can be completely forgiven by God when we repent—forgotten and removed as far as east is from west. Still, we are accountable before a holy God concerning choices, decisions, and motives associated with the way we live our lives on earth. All hearts are open before Him now and will be then.

Shirley reminds us in this and previous episodes that God is dealing with the Church, waiting for our individual and corporate repentance. We cannot look the other way to preserve the status quo and certainly we cannot be careless but rather attentive—we are accountable to the Lord today, and every day. These truths are important reminders for the born-again Believer.

In this episode we look at the possible result of seeing our world and events as they unfold apart from the obvious biblical heads up and an end time application. "For this reason… God will send them strong delusion." (2 Thessalonians 2:11) To hear the voice of the Lord clearly—right now—is critical.

The disciples were instructed to pray for the Kingdom to come and God's will to be done "on earth as it is in heaven." They were told, pray this way! Think about that—about the possibilities included. That the blueprint in heaven waits to unfold on earth as we pray—because we pray. It's just one of those BIG prayers we are encouraged to pray. Because of this truth your expectation cannot be too high. Compared to God's desires for your present and future, you can never reach too high!

Someone needs to hear this today. Like the word of the Lord for you, you can trust God to this extent because the disciples were told, pray this way!

The powerful place family has in God's heart and plan is recognizable in many ways—some of them especially significant considering the authority mandate given to parents described in Deuteronomy 11:19 and Proverbs 22:6.

It's why we've learned to pursue God and train our children to pursue Him, knowing that one of many rewards God has in mind is continual revelation and uncovering of the Kingdom, specifically available to parents and grandparents who serve Him in their generation. According to Deuteronomy 29, "the revealed things belong to you and to your children—forever!"
