Today, Ali talks to Ruth Corden, "Finding the Funny" podcast host, infertility advocate and IVF warrior who is now living Childless Not By Choice. Ruth talks about her 8 year infertility journey, including miscarriage, loneliness, mental health, her siblings, (including her sister Ange, who she hosts the podcast with, and brother, Late Late Show James), and how she loves being an aunt to their children. Ruth also talks about feeling like a failure, what happened when she found out her husband had secretly been using drugs while they were going through it all and how infertility seeps into every single area of your life.
"Let's be honest, when I die, there isn't gonna be anybody at my funeral talking about how many kids I pushed out of my vagina," Ruth says. "They're gonna be talking about what kind of person I am and the way I treated people and how kind I was and what I did for my neighbor. Nobody's gonna stand around going, 'Oh god, well, she didn't have any kids, so she completely failed at life."
