This week we were very happy to be joined by Derrek Buston, owner and managing director of West Coast Brewing. Together we tried a couple of their new releases and talked beer and brewing. The first beer - Forbidden Land - was a new style for us. A Grodziskie is a traditional, oak smoked wheat ale that is sometimes referred to as "Polish Champagne" due to its high carbonation: Light, smoky, crisp, and summery. The second beer could not have been more different. The Gateway Empowered is a 13.0% Imperial Stout with coffee and vanilla. Rich, thick, and incredibly dark. In an incredible coincidence, both will be available at our taproom from Friday afternoon so you can drink along with us.
