What to do when God doesn’t give you what you want…
*We learn to trust God in the trials (think of Hannah who couldn’t have children)
*Reminder: we will always experience disappointment…this earth and everything in it was never meant to satisfy.
Luke 22:42 “…not my will, but yours be done.”
A lot of the time we are disappointed because we are putting our hope in the wrong places.
Verses:
“My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.”
Psalms 73:26 NLT
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”Revelation 21:4 NLT
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 NLT
Welcome back! Let's get into it...
We often say we desire healing or freedom - but we focus on excuses rather than running to our ultimate healer & giver of life, Jesus. We focus inwardly & often form an identity surrounding our struggle.
We are told in John that Jesus is the vine - we are the branches. Without him, we are nothing.Do we truly desire a life that is free from sin? Or are we so comfortable in our sin that it becomes a part of us?
Do we want to be healed?
Scripture References:
“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.” Galatians 5:24 NLT
“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV
“…If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”John 8:31-32
