In 1999, during the 9th Velvi, Gurumahan reveals a measured timespan of pure focus where burdens cease, and the ‘I’ dissolves into the Divine.
When someone cheats us, a subtle shift happens within the mind. Instead of healing, we begin to think of cheating others. Slowly, this attitude spreads everywhere. Cheating repeats itself, from one person to another, again and again. The suffering that came to us need not be passed on. Let it end with us. Yet, how do we usually pray? Rarely do we ask for wisdom that protects us from deception. Instead, we ask for power to cheat others. We do not cultivate the maturity to accept pain and transform it. This is why worship must evolve not as ritual alone, but as a path to inner growth and responsibility.
True worship begins with knowing what to ask for. Just as a child approaches a father for what is truly needed, we must approach God with clarity. Not for revenge or gain, but for wisdom, strength, patience, compassion, and calmness. Divine grace alone is enough. When grace is present, everything else follows. All is God, and all life unfolds within divine truth. God himself came as human, yet we forgot our own divine nature.
God is not merely a form. God is infinite power, patience, and completion. When we worship only forms and forget these qualities, worship becomes shallow. The purpose of prayer is to see God as God, within and beyond form. When worship is done with faith and trust, even for a short, sincere period, it brings deep well-being and clarity.
God already lives within us. But how often do we speak to that presence? Have we ever asked, in silence, why we suffer and what we must learn? True worship happens in solitude. It does not require elaborate rituals. Where the mind becomes still, that itself is the sacred space.
Whether one worships Shiva, Vishnu, the Divine Mother, or any form, the method remains the same. Sit quietly and focus on the space between the eyebrows. Just a few minutes of steady attention is enough. In Ashtanga yoga, 12 seconds is Dharanai(inner focus on 1 point). Twelve such Dharanai become Dhyanam(meditation), about 2.5 minutes. Even this short time, when done sincerely, has immense power.
We are advised to sit longer not because more time is needed, but to prepare the restless mind for those few moments of true focus. When the mind rests on one point for even 2.5 minutes, intention gains power, and inner transformation begins.
Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan reminds us that the duration of sitting is not important. Whether one sits for minutes or hours, the experience of bliss arises in a brief moment of complete alignment. In that moment, one touches the center of Universe and feels the wholeness of life.
When attention rests on the Divine, at the Eyebrow center or at the Crown chakra for even two or three minutes, inner burdens begin to dissolve. Faith in this simple truth is enough. That faith itself becomes the doorway to grace.

In 1999 during the 9th Velvi, Gurumahan emphasizes that humility is fulfilled when we bow to our parents and perceive them as God appearing in human form.
Understand this, the sins committed over many births gets washed away if you truly melt in surrender and let go even once. That is faith. When we surrender in faith, good things surely happen to us. That is why we say this: whoever worships their mother and father as God receives the full grace of the Divine. The sins committed by parents belong to them. But why should you commit sins? Why should you do wrong at all? Whoever you are, just think about it. Please do not misunderstand me. Suppose I place a stone here, shape it, decorate it grandly, and say, “This is the all-powerful God. People, worship this instead.” What would you do? You would immediately fall down, prostrate again and again, and place it on your head.
The stone does not question you. “Hey, what did you do yesterday?” If it did question you, would you still bow before it? We do whatever we want because it does not question us. But the parents who gave birth to us, carried us for ten months, endured countless hardships, raised us, and made us who we are, why do we hesitate to worship them? Should I bow at their feet? Think about it. We worship stone idols, but what is wrong in worshipping parents who are living gods as mother and father? What they have done belongs to them. But we, as children, should never stray from our dharma. Your children and grandchildren watch what you do today. They see what their father and mother are doing.
They see you bow at the feet of grandparents. Then what should they do? Why do we bow at the feet of our parents? What does bowing really mean? We say “Guru,” but some people bow to nothing. They do not listen to the Guru’s words. They cannot bow to the Guru at all. Then what does bowing mean?
Bowing means humility and surrender. So we must show humility before our parents. You may be a collector. You may be a king. You may be a minister. You may even be the Prime Minister. But what do you truly want? Peace. From where does that peace come? It comes from mother and father. That is why our Sanatana Dharma teaches us to worship mother and father as God. What have we done today? We have forgotten.

In 1999, 9th Velvi, what Gurumahan asks us to leave behind in Kashi: Not food or possessions, but the weight of the mind!
Even if one travels across the world for these 21 days (Holy Penance), the state we experience by sitting here in meditation and merging with this magnificent universe is extremely rare. Such a state is rarely found anywhere else. The core principle of Sanatana Dharma is 'what exists in the macrocosm also exists within the microcosm'. The same principles that govern our inner being are reflected outwardly. If you observe any other land in the world, its structure is not complete in this sense. But Bharat is uniquely designed according to the structure of the human body. Kanyakumari is formed like a triangle where three oceans meet. In the human body, in Muladhara chakra, Ida, Pingala & Sushumna, three main nadis converge. In the same way, these energies meet at Kanyakumari. That is why the deity worshipped at that place is Kanni Moola Ganapati. Externally, the presiding deity there is Kanyakumari. From this southern point begins the spiritual path of Sanatana Dharma. In the final phase of one's life, a Hindu is expected to reach Kashi, to seek oneness with Divine. This practice is called Vadakiruthal which means handing over all worldly responsibilities to one’s lineage and dedicating oneself fully to penance in order to realize God.
Thus, going to Kashi means journeying to unite with God. Kashi is the place where three rivers meet: the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the Saraswati. The Ganga and Yamuna are visible, but the Saraswati is not seen. She flows underground and is therefore called Antarvahini. When a person immerses themselves at the confluence of these three rivers, they symbolically release their worldly duties. After this, one goes to Haridwar. Hari refers to Vishnu, who resides in Vaikuntha. Haridwar is considered the gateway to Vaikuntha. Many people visit Haridwar today as tourists, without understanding its deeper meaning. Sadly, many Holy places have now become tourist destinations and are no longer protected in their true sanctity. In our unique geography, Rameswaram represents the south and Kashi the north. In ancient times, people who went to Kashi did not immediately return to worldly life. After completing their journey to Kashi, they would go to Rameswaram. This was a tradition.
Why Rameswaram? Because the energy of the Muladhara, the Kundalini power, is rooted in the south. Everyone has this inner energy. When it is awakened and used correctly, it benefits not only the individual but the world at large just as knowledge, when discovered, becomes useful to all. After returning from Kashi, one must go to Rameswaram. This is an age-old belief. What is the true benefit of going to Kashi? It is not about gaining something external. It is about giving up inner impurities desire, anger, greed, attachment, and jealousy and entering a divine state. In earlier times, only those who were ready to renounce everything could truly go to Kashi. Even today, one can go to Kashi. But after returning, one must ask: what did I leave behind? Not food or possessions, but attachments. If one has anger, let go of anger. If desire dominates, release desire. If jealousy exists, let go of jealousy.
When a person returns after removing inner enemies of the mind, true benefit arises. Each visit should help dissolve one inner blockage. As these inner impurities fall away, divine qualities naturally emerge. For a true devotee, returning from Kashi should reduce worldly involvement. That is why, after Kashi, one is guided toward Rameswaram.

In 1999 Velvi, Gurumahan says from the deep longing of people, a Maharishi is born!
Gurumahan: From a very young age, I carried a deep quest to realise God. In the same way, our JagatMahaGuru GnanaVallal Paranjothi Mahan set out with the noble aim of realising the God who is above any king or ruler. During that time, a Guru came into His life and shaped Him into a Mahan and a JagatGuru, becoming a guiding source for me as well through this book Naan Kadavul. In the future, may His philosophy, penance, and principles be accepted and followed by all the people of this world.
With the thought of becoming God, I have visited many temples for worship. During one such time, when I went to worship at the Pasupatheeswarar Temple in Karur, I was told that someone there teaches this yoga. At that moment, we were guided to approach a Guru named Manickam. The guidance He gave that day led to receiving the love and support of Thavathiru Gnanavallal Swamigal from Erode. After that, from the day I received initiation through the Holy hands of GnanaVallal Paranjothi Mahaan until today, that inner experience has created an unshakable faith and conviction that there is nothing else in this world other than MeiUnarvu (Divine vibration); believe in one truth, and it will uplift you. Once one holds on to that single truth, it becomes complete knowledge.
The spiritual fire that arose at the age of seven gave the blessed opportunity to experience Self-realization (ஆத்ம தரிசனம்) again within just the second month after initiation. Therefore, for a Guru to grow, to become a Mahan, and to rise as a Maharishi, the support of all people is essential. Dattatreya sees the entire world and the whole universe itself as His Guru. That is why the longing of countless people becomes the very cause for the birth of a Guru. If today your longing has elevated someone into a Guru, a Mahan, or a Maharishi, then it is because of your love and your expectation.

In 1999, Gurumahan spoke about living in the path of Dharma with faith in thy Self for Satya Yuga to arise. He emphasized that this is not the responsibility of the Guru alone, but a collective effort that each one of us must consciously uphold.
Gurumahan : This year, I wondered whether Velvi was really necessary, or whether I could go to abroad, complete it there, and return. Perhaps it was the result of your deep longing, that even today, a situation has arisen for this Holy Penance to begin here.
Usually, we start every year on the first Monday of the Tamil month of Margazhi, which falls on December 16. But this year, we are starting on the fourth Monday of Margazhi. When we looked at the end date as January 9, it came to exactly 21 days.
Why 21 days? When we first sat for 1st Velvi, it was 21 days. The first penance lasted 21 days. This is the ninth Velvi, and it also lasts 21 days. In other years, the count was not 21 days, it was 23, 25, and other numbers. This clearly shows that something is guiding us.
Therefore, this Velvi is said to be the last of this century. Strictly speaking, if we say “the last of the century,” the next year 2000 is actually the end of the century. Many people asked me, “Guru, 1999 is ending and 2000 is coming. We say we will protect world welfare and world peace and establish Satya Yuga by the year 2000. How many days do we really have left? Can we achieve this within that time? If not, people will question us. What does ‘by 2000’ really mean?”
If I say, “I will pay the money by the 30th,” it means I will pay by the evening of the 30th not before the 29th. In the same way, saying “by 2000” means before the year 2001 begins.
Who will do this work? If Guru does it and you just stand and watch, that will not work. We all must do it together. How do we do it? If each one of us lives with complete faith in God and follows the path of dharma, each of us can become a truthful person.
So far, we have lived somehow and moved on. From this year onward, no, from this very moment, from December 19 to January 9 for these 21 days, do not lie deliberately. Lawyers, please do not misunderstand me. This is a discipline of dharma.
If you are truly firm in this practice, then even if you have to go from court to court, go ahead and do it. Because today, debate means winning through speech. It is no longer about justice. Courts today do not deliver justice; they deliver verdicts. A verdict means, “You did this much, you deserve this much.” That is judgment, not justice.
In earlier times, kings delivered justice. Today, courts give decisions, not justice. Justice does not submit to anything. Justice stands against injustice.
If you truly observe these 21 days, you will understand this truth: even if you travel all over the world, the state we attain here sitting in penance and merging with this magnificent universe is extremely rare. Very rare indeed.

In the 8th Velvi, Gurumahan gives away a powerful reminder that temples were built not for ritual alone, but to awaken humanity to its divine origin and lived spiritual experience.
The universe unfolds exactly according to what the all-powerful Divine wills. They say not even an atom moves without Him. Yes, just as that divine will exists, the path of the Siddhars, who realized God within their own consciousness, also existed and continues to exist. Having realized the Self, these great Siddhars taught humanity that God is one, and that this one God may be worshipped in many forms. Ultimately, by realizing reality as it truly is, one attains the wisdom of Self-knowledge, experiences bliss, then supreme bliss, and through that supreme bliss gains the spiritual maturity to see all beings as oneself. From such lived experiences arose the systems of temple worship.
Yet even today, people go to temples without understanding their inner meaning, why temples were built, how the Divine within the temple is to be worshipped. We worship outwardly, but we do not truly worship with the mind. Therefore, in this Holy Penance, all participants are guided to experience emotional awareness, perceptive awareness, and conscious awareness corresponding to body, mind, and intellect and also the MeiUnarvu (Divine vibration) that transcends these three. Although countless Vedas, religions, epics, Puranas, prophecies, yogis, and saints have repeatedly spoken and written about these truths and departed, now is the time to put them into practice.
Instead of merely speaking, this 8th World Welfare MahaDhava Velvi seeks to make people realize these truths experientially. Each day, through various practices, participants are enabled to experience the awareness called the Atma. Through this, children and school students are taught clearly and beautifully: What is the Atma? Who is a human being? What are all living beings in the world? From what are all manifested objects created? We are all one; we all come from that Supreme Absolute, from God. Every living being exists according to its inherent nature. Human beings too have an inherent nature, a divine nature, because the all-powerful Supreme Absolute created the human being in the final stage of evolution in His own likeness.

In the 8th Velvi, through a powerful ten-minute inner dialogue, Gurumahan gently guides the mind to remember its true role — not as the ruler of life, but as the humble servant and friend of the soul.
This is a mental practice. The mind itself causes both pleasure and pain. The mind enables us to experience the divine state and also to experience sensory perceptions. When you go beyond the senses and feel the divine vibration (MeiUnarvu) within you, you realize how wonderfully God has gifted you with this mind. The mind is full of love, filled with energy, capable of knowing everything, calm by nature, and a place where bliss resides.
My dear ones, now gently turn your mind inward. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, withdraw from external scenes, and feel how powerful your mind truly is. Bring your mind to the space between the eyebrows and observe it. Say to your mind: “Dear mind, come into a peaceful state. Deep inner mind, do you know who you are? You are a mind that seeks peace and bliss. For whom do you seek this peace and bliss? You seek it for the soul. You are a good friend to the soul, and you exist to serve it.”
Just as a worker stays loyal to an employer, a child stays dear to a mother, a disciple stays devoted to a guru, in the same way, mind, you exist for the sake of Atma. Through this physical body, you see through the eyes, hear through the ears, smell through the nose, taste through the tongue, and experience heat, warmth, cold, and other sensations through the body. All these experiences happen through the mind. The body itself knows nothing; when the mind gives a command, the body obeys.
People do not call a body good or bad. They judge a person based on the qualities of the mind. Mind, you know what is good and what is bad. You have learned through experience. When you eat wrong food and suffer stomach pain, you know not to repeat it. If you continue to seek pleasure through the senses, you only increase suffering.
So, dear mind, do not wander. Stay calmly in your rightful place, the space between the eyebrows. There, you can clearly think and decide what is good, what is bad, what should be done, and what should not be done. Lasting joy and supreme bliss do not exist in the senses. They arise only from realizing the Atma.
When you desire external objects, you lose peace. Desire turns into greed, greed into anger, anger into jealousy, and jealousy into deceit. Mind, you come from the all-powerful Supreme Being. You are a companion and a friend of the Atma. When this is so, should you wander into unnecessary paths?
Dear mind, are you listening to what I say?

Gurumahan, in the 8th Velvi, does not ask for wealth or sacrifice as Velvi tribute, but for offering the mind itself. When the mind is surrendered to Guru, it is purified, & within that purified chitta, God silently reveals Himself.
In this 21st century, how should you be, how will you live? When you come to any yajna, you offer a tribute. In return, when you leave the yajna, those who performed it give you prasadam. In this Velvi, do you know what I ask from you? Do I ask for gold, wealth, land, your life or your body? No. I ask you to turn your mind slightly inward. The mind is truly something wonderful, it listens to every kind of trouble you tell it. But you keep calling the mind useless and spoiled. Will it listen then? It will say, “You yourself insulted me. Why should I help you?” Then it goes its own way through the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body. It simply follows its impulses. You follow it and remain stuck in sorrow. If you keep beating the mind down, what will you do when it turns away completely? It will drag you down and throw you into suffering. That is why you must not let the mind wander aimlessly. Until now, what have you done with your mind? You ignored it. You did not use it at all. Instead, you kept saying, “I am not the body. I am not the mind. I am not the intellect. I am Atma beyond all these.” But where is Atma? You cannot sense it, because it transcends everything form, formless form (light) and formlessness. Then people say, “It is the state beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep.” So you sleep. You wake up feeling peaceful. But when do you truly realize the Atma? The scriptures say Atma has nothing, it is neither male nor female, wears no attributes, stands naked and untouched. Then for whom are the Vedas, Upanishads, and all teachings given? Not for the Atma. The body is inert matter; it has no power to know. Atma transcends everything. So who receives all teachings? The mind. Good and bad, whom do they belong to? The mind. When you say, “She is a good mother” or “He is a good person,” you speak about the goodness of the mind, not the Atma. All these teachings were always meant for the mind. Through the mind alone, you must learn to differentiate the body, calm yourself, unite with divine awareness, and realize the truth that you reflect the Atman itself. Until now, you never truly used your mind. Now, will you give your mind to me for just 10 minutes? You cannot give me anything else, but you can give me your mind. Only to the mind can I reveal what my love truly is and impart my Upadesha. You are the very form of Para Brahman. If you command the mind harshly, it will become angry. It will say, “Where were you all these days? Now you come looking for me?” So first, I speak gently to it. I trust that your mind will listen. In the same way, you too must trust and listen to the Guru’s words. Practice yoga for purification of the mind. Who resides within that purified mind? God Himself. That is why it is said, “Shiva reveals Himself within the chitta.” Your mind holds extraordinary power. It can do anything. Even now during the satsang, if your mind says, “I will get up and leave,” you will leave. So, will you give me your mind? Will you listen to me? I will speak gently with your mind. This is not about seeing me as a physical form. I am not the body. I am that wondrous Atma that moves everything and fills everyone from within, without separation. You may call this a small relaxation or practice. But even practice makes the mind resist. So do nothing forcefully. Just give your mind to me. Can everyone do that? Alright.

Gurumahan, in the 8th Velvi (1998), highlights how Self-realization births spiritual Oneness as a lived experience not just as an idea. Deep compassion is born in your heart and the world becomes a mirror of your Self!
Many ask, "Will the Guru no longer perform the Holy Penance (Velvi)?" Gurumahan gently says, 'My dear one, you have already realised the truth. But many people are yet to realize God. They have no faith in dharma. They think it is impossible to live honestly in this world. According to circumstances, even if they have justice and honesty within, they change because of the environment around them. Should they not be guided? Many good people trust God, yet they are pushed into unnecessary situations.
To protect them, there must be one more Velvi.
At the end of that Velvi, it will be revealed who the Guru is, what noble actions He performs in this world, and through Him what is accomplished for the upliftment of the world! Humanity shall realise all these truth ny the end of this Velvi. Faith in God, faith in the Guru, and faith in the Guru’s Sathya (true) path are the three pillars on which those who hold unshakable trust will be saved at the end of Kali. At that time, the people of the earth will understand this truth.
Why do I say “earthly people”? Because we live only on this earth. We do not know if humans or other beings exist anywhere else. Within this solar system, we call it the planet Earth. This earth, the moon, the planets, the sun, and the stars together form one system(பூமண்டலம்). That is why we speak of Bhoo, bhuvar and swarga Lokas together form seven worlds contained within this universe.
Science says human knowledge and thought can reach only within this Pomandalam(solar system, Stars, Planets around the earth). Beyond this, a person must rise to a higher state of awareness. That 'I' is beyond thought.
So, to reach the center of the universe, one must transcend the senses, mind, and with divine vibration go beyond the forehead center, the crown center, and the sky, beyond the moon, sun, and stars. When a Jiva (Soul) expresses itself and unites itself in வெட்டவெளி (vast space), only then does it truly realize the Atma and God as they are.
Now, this is the understanding:
God exists like this. God is here. We are here.
The path to reach that divine state is through Divine vibration (MeiUnarvu), yoga insists on it.
People already know this, but soon everyone will be able to experience it.
At that time, you will realize that God is not separate, your jiva is not separate, and you are not separate. Then, in this world, whatever sorrows or joys come, you will remain unshaken. After attaining self-realization, people will rise above pleasure and pain, praise and blame, gain and loss. They will accept everything as it for the highest good. In that state, when they look at others, they see themselves in everyone. They see all beings within themselves. Deep compassion fills their heart. Then each person sees all living beings as equal to himself and gains spiritual unity. At that stage, humans will not cause suffering to other humans. Humans will not harm other creatures. Everyone will live with love, with justice, with dharma, and according to God’s will.
That age will be the 21st century.'
