There has been a great concerned about the arrest of well-respected Assyrian journalist William Bnyameen Adam, Also known as Khlapieel Banyameen by the Kurdish authorities, He is a well-known young Assyrian journalist working on human rights issues.
Our correspondent from Dohuk Naseem Sadiq told SBS Assyrian program that Khlapieel has been detained by Kurdish authorities for illegally crossing the Iraqi border to Syria. 

Professor Muna Yaku, a specialist in law and political science, said that the amendments to the Constitution of Iraq in current circumstances are to silence the voice of the people.
She added:” I was chosen among a group of professors, to participate with the constitutional amendment committee, but I refused because minorities are the losers, as long as the government is based on quotas and sectarianism.”

Mr. Benjamin Benjamin, Director of the Assyrian Language College, said that we are happy with the students attending consistently, but one day a week is not enough.
The students whom we met said they can now read prayer’s books in the church and at home. For some, the learning at the college has benefited them to use the language at their workplace.

Celebrating Assyrian Press Day, The Assyrian Australian Association held a poetry evening on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Eden Hall. A number of poets participate in the event particularly young journalists who spoke about their experiences in journalism.

As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Assyrian Australia Association, a book will be launched on the 23rd of November titled (KINARA), it illustrates the history of the Assyrian community in Australian since early 1960s and until today. Author of the book Mr. Philip Darmo talks about the book and shows the importance of having such a documented reference of our community in Australia.

Our correspondent from Dohuk, Mr. Nassem Sadiq said reliable sources confirmed that the tear gas bombs used on demonstrators by security forces were expired and were fired deliberately on demonstrators heads to paralyse their movement and to kill them.
He added the number of casualty reached about 250 dead and eleven thousand wounded.
