Shelan Khodedah came to Australia with her family in 2016 and lives in Wagga Wagga. She, like thousands of Yazidis, fled ISIS and took refuge in Australia. On June16 and 17 Ms Khodedah visited The Australian Parliament in Canberra on behalf of her community where she met with thirteen members of parliament to deliver a message regarding missing Yazidis captured by ISIS. During her visit she spoke about the situation of Yazidis in refugee camps in Iraq and Turkey and pleaded with the Australian government to unite families in Australia with their loved ones who remain abroad.
