Five years ago, Melbourne resident Prerna Malla embarked on a motorcycle journey to Upper Mustang, which, in her view, is a response to male dominance in Nepal. Her father, Prem Malla, stood by her on a dirt bike ride to Upper Mustang as she had been excluded from the trip by a group of contemporary male relatives. The Federal Government is facing more calls to combat problem gambling. New figures on the number of Australians self-excluding from gambling, have prompted warnings of a public health crisis. Every year 27 February marks the World NGO Day. The motto for this year is 'Building a sustainable future: The role of NGOs in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals'. Nepal-based NGO Manavsewa Ashram representatives have visited Australia and interacted with the Nepali community. The foundation's president Ramjee Adhikari says they aim to end homelessness in Nepal in the coming two years.
