This week we chat with actress Siobhan Williams! She's known for her roles in Deadly Class, Hell on Wheels and Unreal but her latest performance is as Laura Kearney is in the Supermassive Games video game The Quarry, the spiritual successor to Until Dawn. We chat about her love of psychological thrillers, how she can play scary video games but some scary movies frighten her and about her work in The Quarry, including her mocap work and how well she does at the game.
Spoilers:
We chat about some deaths and some minor surprises with The Quarry in this episode. If you want to skip that discussion, we talk spoilers around 11:15-14:00 on the recording.
Then we dig into Matilda (1996), a movie that traumatized her at a very early age. We discuss the sapphic allure of Miss Honey, horrible parents, horror set pieces, the themes Roald Dahl explores and so much more.
