This week we chat with animator, director and writer Cressa Maeve Beer! She's the animator behind iconic stop motion shorts like "Coming Out" and "Me and the Matrix" and we talk about her relationship to horror, how she got into animation, her love of Ray Harryhausen's stop motion work, working on big movies and so much more. Then we turn to arguably the most depressing movie about zombies, George Romero's Day of the Dead. Our conversation runs the gamut from the gore, to the puppetry, the deep sense of nihilism, connections to today, unlikable characters and, finally, a talking zombie named Bub.

This week we chat with actress Siobhan Williams! She's known for her roles in Deadly Class, Hell on Wheels and Unreal but her latest performance is as Laura Kearney is in the Supermassive Games video game The Quarry, the spiritual successor to Until Dawn. We chat about her love of psychological thrillers, how she can play scary video games but some scary movies frighten her and about her work in The Quarry, including her mocap work and how well she does at the game.

This week we sit down with filmmaker Perry Blackshear, the writer/director behind They Look Like People and The Siren. His latest film When I Consume You is currently out on VOD and continues his trend of making intimate horror movies about internal struggle. We discuss how he came to horror later in life, some of his favorites and films that pulled him into the genre as well as what he enjoys about the genre now that he watches it. Then we dig into When I Consume You, which is an emotionally devastating movie that blends supernatural horror with the story of a brother and sister trying to make it in a cruel world.

Finally, we turn to Pinocchio, a film that is actually quite terrifying with its depictions of child trafficking and body horror. We dig into the almost propaganda-like nature of the story, the historical context of the film, the xenophobia and racist depictions as well as some of the incredibly haunting visuals and the absolutely *stunning* animation.

This week we're so excited to be joined by writer/director William Brent Bell! He's the filmmaker behind movies like Stay Alive and The Boy and his latest film Orphan: First Kill is the prequel to the cult classic camp masterpiece Orphan! We talk about his horror history, approaching this prequel with trepidation (and death threats?!) and ultimately falling in love with the surprising story. Stick to the end where he talks about two of his upcoming horror creations which sound fantastic.

Then we dig into The Other (1972), a film that seems relatively forgotten but needs to be discussed and championed as a precursor to a ton of horror tropes. We discuss evil twins, its legacy, the fantastic direction from To Kill A Mockingbird's Robert Mulligan, Uta Hagen, the queer screenwriter, some of the horrific imagery and so much more.

This is one of the most messed up PG rated movies ever.
