  • Mondays with Mo- February 17, 2020
So where are the Cardinals at the beginning of spring training? Maybe a contract extension to Yadier Molina to make him a Cardinal for life? Ted Simmons said Molina could be any player or position on the field including the manager. He called Molina extraordinary.

We talk about the left-field battle, the closer, the rotation and the Astros cheating scandal. What does Mo say about Jeff Albert who was part of the Astros team during that time? What does he think could happen to prevent sign stealing in the future? Listen here:

  • Derrick Goold- February 14, 2020
Derrick Goold echoes the sentiment that the Astros press conference was a total mess. He said they weren't prepared and it was like they were saying grown men couldn't take responsibility for their own actions. They seem to be letting everyone else take blame and pointing fingers in all directions. Baseball clubs and players are really growing frustrated by this whole situation. We talk about what could be coming next around baseball.

Shildt has his "state of the union" type address this week and we're starting to get specifics. Derrick asked about how Alex Reyes and Carlos Martinez compare to one another and the track of their careers. Now that the training wheels are off, what happens for Alex Reyes? Is he a potential closer? Opening day with the club is a possibility.

So many question marks for a team that was in the final four of baseball last year. WIll spring training answer those questions? Derrick says Bader and Lane Thomas have a better chance of making the opening day roster that Reyes and Munoz. Who has stood out so far? Derrick says Martinez actually looks surprisingly good. Rondon and Oviedo look good as well. Zach Thompson showed well too. Listen here:

  • Ben Fred Friday – February 14, 2020
We jump right into baseball with Ben Fred this morning. The Astros press conference yesterday about their cheating was quite the disaster. Ben Fred says it's truly remarkable that they could mess it up as badly as they did. One group blamed another and there was no remorse. How were they so unprepared? After such a mess, they've opened up more questions. If any fans were possibly getting passed it before, maybe now they're backtracking. Altuve and Bregman should have never been allowed to talk at the juncture. So what now?

What is Ben's opinion on Jeff Albert's talk of it from Cardinals camp this week? Is he a by-product of the Astros system or will he provide results this year? How does Rob Manfred recover from this and right the baseball ship? Not by making changes to the postseason as distraction.

We turn to the terrifying scene in Anaheim regarding the Blues Jay Bouwmeester. Ben Fred says the medical staff, playing staff and management staff have done an incredible job reacting to it. Hopefully this is the biggest thing the team has to overcome this year. How does the team deal with the loss of him as a player? Now the Bleas have questions at the trade deadline about finding replacements for some.

We talk the controversial article on Lutheran North vs. John Burroughs written by Ben this week too. Listen here:

  • Derrick Goold- February 13, 2020
Just over a week away from the first game of the preseason for the Cardinals. Yesterday was interesting, in Jupiter, as Mozeliak addresses the media. Some very big questions still open for the club. The lead-off hitter, the closer, the fifth starter and more. We heard from Jeff Albert yesterday about his involvement in the Astros sign stealing blunder. We talk it all over with Derrick Goold- listen here:

  • Wednesday with Walton – February 12, 2020
Coming to you from Jupiter, Florida- we talk Cardinals baseball with Brian Walton of thecardinalnation.com. His insights on Matthew Liberatore, Johan Oviedo and the incredible number of minor league players that are present at Spring Training. The schedules are tight and the coaches will have to juggle time to see all the competition at camp this year. What about Kodi Whitley? Does he get a longer look from the majors staff? We also talk about the potential MLB postseason changes and sign-stealing black-eye. Listen here:

  • Derrick Goold- Spring Training Day 1
We talked to Derrick Goold, of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, to kick off the start of spring training 2020. What does Derrick think about the offensive production for this year? What about the fight for outfield play? He disagrees that the 26th man will potentially be a catcher. He explains his thoughts on Rangel Ravelo for that spot. He talks about Matt Carpenter and Tommy Edman. Also, he says there’s potential for Andrew Knizner to play more than just catcher. Listen here-

  • Mike Shildt – Spring Training 2020
It’s a long visit with Mike Shildt, manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, as we get set to kick off spring training 2020. We get into the starting rotation, the closer role, Matt Carpenter and his improvements for the season. Is C Mart a starter? We also talk about the loss of Marcell Ozuna and Jose Martinez. Who makes up for that offensive production? Lane Thomas is mentioned as well as a few names fans may not have heard much yet. With so many players coming to camp this year, how does the coaching staff evaluate them all? All that and more here:

  • Ben Fred Friday – February 7, 2020
It's a Ben Fred Friday and we get into it with Ben Frederickson of stltoday.com. Ben says the Chiefs parade mimicked the Blues parade with players down on the streets partying hard. It was hard for Ben to go full Chiefs fan since Clark hunt voted for the Rams to leave, though.
We discuss potential Cardinals HOFers for this year. Only two get in so who will it be? Ben picks Keith Hernandez and possibly Matt Morris. He has some surprising takes on others who may make it in the future. Could David Freese be a Cardinals Hall of Famer? Ben says Edgar Renteria may get a lot of votes if the voters skew younger.
Is there wind in the Arenado trade sail? Not really right now. It seems the Rockies are waiting to see what Spring Training and the start of the season are like for the club. Ben suggests one route for the Rockies is to just relieve the GM of his duties.
A few big signings for Mizzou football in recent weeks. Ennis Rakestraw's commitment to Mizzou made a big splash for Coach Drinkwitz. Many are saying it's a mission of Drinkwitz to keep the local players close.
Isaac Bruce is a Hall of Famer and taking St. Louis with him to Canton. A perfect way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Rams Super Bowl win. What will the Battlehawks get as far as support now too?

We talk Boston's reaction to the MLB punishments, the effectiveness of the gag order and more. Blues trade deadline talk too. Listen here:
