Brian Walton and Dan discuss the draft and the Cardinals players of the month.

Dan and Mo discuss the upcoming draft, Alex Reyes and the week that was.

The Major League Baseball Draft is finally here. As the draft begins, the Cardinals have four picks in the first 95 a year after not having one in the top 100. What are the needs of the Cardinals? Should they select a high school player or college player? Does Tommy John surgery enter into their thinking when selecting a pitcher? All that is covered in this podcast with the Cardinals Director of Scouting, Randy Flores.

Randy Flores was named the Cardinals Director of Scouting in August of 2015. He was a part of the Cardinals 2006 World Series Championship team and spent eight seasons in the Majors. The left-hander pitched for St. Louis from 2004-2008.

Brian Anderson has called the play-by-play for the Milwaukee Brewers telecasts since 2007. In addition to those duties, he’s been one of the voices for the NCAA tournament and the NBA. You will hear Brian calling MLB playoff games again this fall.

I really enjoyed this visit with Brian. I consider him not only one of the best voices in sports but, an outstanding friend as well. In this podcast, you’ll hear about Jack Buck being an influence in his career, calling historic moments, and what it’ll mean to him to be in St. Louis for the upcoming PGA championship at Bellerive. If you’re an aspiring broadcaster, Brian has some great lessons to give along the way. Enjoy!

Tony LaRussa is one of the greatest managers in the history of Major League Baseball.  His MLB career has spanned from 1963 to the present.  In 33 years as a manager, LaRussa guided his teams to three World Series titles, six league championships and twelve division titles.  His 2,728 wins is third most for a major league manager, trailing only the totals of Connie Mack and John McGraw.

In this podcast, Tony LaRussa tells me what it meant to him to manage the St. Louis Cardinals.  The changes that MLB could make in the game today.  What does Mark McGwire and Rick Ankiel mean to him?  Why does he still stay in the game in a management role?  The history of ARF and what they’re doing today to help others.  It’s all covered in this podcast.  Enjoy!
