Something else that’s dark and cool is Formex’s Essence Ceramica Dark Matter 41, which is arguably the best Essence model to date, with its combination of dark nickel-plated meteorite and ceramic build.

But if you are on the cheery side of things, Studio Underdog and Christopher Ward have got you covered with the Alliance 02, a pocket watch made in support of the Alliance of British Watch and Clock Makers. On the business side, Studio Underdog has taken the big step of acquiring Horologium.

A big evolution from where Studio Underdgo started and another brand rapidly moving up is Vyntage, which has gone from quartz pieces to high horology with the new Strata collection. In auction news, punching way above what anyone expected is AP at Sotheby’s, with the hammer coming down at $7,736,000 for the Audemars Piguet Grosse Pièce.
