  • Ep 185 Empowering First Generation Self-Starters | Heather Parady

Heather Parady is  the host of the Unconventional Leaders podcast. The show currently airs five times a week. Folks that’s a podcast warrior for you.

Heather is a therapist turned online entrepreneur and the intention of her work is to raise up the next generation leaders who go against the grain. The decision to become an entrepreneur came after she’d earned her Master’s degree. When the job offers started to come in Heather burst out in tears. Her husband pointed out that when people get a job offer, most of them go out for drinks to celebrate. But down deep Heather had this burning desire to create something of her own.

    We had raw conversation about:

    • Her entrepreneurial journey
  • The reaction of friends and family when she made the decision to start her own business
  • The sacrifices her family made for her to complete her education
  • Why she loves working with underdogs (she considers herself to be one)
  • What freedom means to her
  • Her views on parenting and preparing her two girls to be the best they can be
  • Heather has an infectious personality and wisdom that goes far beyond her years. I was honoured to have her on the show. Enjoy

  • Ep 184 How To Be A Happy Entrepreneur | Travis McKenzie

Travis is the Founder of NTSQ Sports Group and is an innovator in the endurance sports world. The thing that stands out about Travis is the clarity of his vision. This guy is a happy entrepreneur. Like many of us Travis’s path to entrepreneurship involved more than a few twists and turns.

The son of a triathlete, Travis competed in his first triathlon at the age of 8! Then moved on to Aussie rules football before competing in his first Ironman competition at the age of 20. Then in March of 2015, his life changed. He was riding his bike in Vancouver, came around a corner and was hit head on by a car. Travis suffered four fractured vertebrae in his neck, a dislocated hip, and fractured a few ribs and his scapula. In November of that same year Travis completed the New York Marathon, and in 2016 completed two ironman competitions.

With the injuries Travis knew that he could no longer compete at an elite level. He took a job working for Lululemon before launching his own business in 2018. Today Travis combines his love for endurance sports with his business. He organizes endurance events and also created  InnerVoice a brand that gives endurance athletes a new media platform to tell their true story.

Travis spoke about the gifts he found in his adversity and challenges us all to do what makes us happy. His life and entrepreneurial story is fascinating. Enjoy..

  • Ep 183 What Happens When Financial Success Is Not Enough | Malorie Nicole

Malorie Nicole is an Entrepreneurial & Executive Coach, Mindset Expert, Speaker, and host of the Abundantly Clear Podcast.

When Malorie graduated from University of North Carolina she had her sights set on a career in Engineering. That changed when went Malories search for answers to her ongoing health struggles created a desire in her to help others. Friends and family were puzzled by Malories decision to start her own health coaching business, which then evolved into her being a Mindset coach for entrepreneurs and driven professionals. Malorie pushed past the criticism, one person told her she would be better off if she became a Yoga instructor, knowing that their criticism had nothing to do with her. The naysayers were simply projecting their own limiting beliefs onto anyone that dared to expect more from life.

These days Malorie has a thriving practice where  she helps entrepreneurs identify and remove mental barriers that are stopping them from creating the life they want.

    In this episode Malorie:

    • Talked about the origin and evolution of her business
  • Confessed that while she had not been unhappy with her previous life, she couldn’t say she was happy
  • Tells us that she frequently hears from entrepreneurs with a ton of money who are still not satisfied with their life, and don’t know what it’s going to take for them to be happy
  • Calls out a Social media environment where people only talk about their successes and the impact this has on others
  • Concludes that we’re facing an epidemic of silent sufferers who don’t want to admit that they’re not happy
  • Reminds us that entrepreneurship comes from the mindset of the entrepreneur
  • And we both talked about the need for everyone to have a healthy relationship with money (what that means and how to attain it)
  • This is a high energy conversation with an articulate and up and coming mindset expert. Enjoy

  • Ep 181 The Most Important Sale Any Business Owner Will Make | Eric Gilboord

Eric Gilboord is a lifelong entrepreneur, Author, Public Speaker and the CEO WarrenBDC, a company that  specializes in working with boomer aged business owners or those wishing to acquire their companies.

Eric is focused on solving a big problem. Sixty-five percent of all businesses in Canada and the United States are owned by baby boomers. Anyone born between 1946 and 1964. So this is a pretty big audience. Eighty percent of those owners do not have a plan in place or know how to transition. Most are counting on the sale of their company to fund their retirement, and in a lot of cases the value of the business is less that the owner needs for the desired retirement lifestyle. In this episode Eric:

    • Says Naysayers uninformed opinions are based upon their own life experiences
  • Points out that the most important sale a business owner makes (the sale of the business) is the one they are worst prepared for
  • Explains how he works with business owners to find unrealised potential
  • States that the demand for businesses with predictable cash flow is strong
  • Talks about some of the options business owners have when planning to exit
  • Notes that after cashing out many entrepreneurs are choosing to buy another business rather than investing in financial markets
  • This episode will resonate with business owners across all sectors. Enjoy…
