Sunder Krishnan served at Rexdale Alliance Church in Toronto for 36 years. His primary calling in retirement is to preach and mentor the next generation while mobilizing intercessors for the Great Commission. Sunder was born in India and grew up in the capital city, New Delhi. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology and received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and worked with Atomic Energy of Canada. Sunder and his wife, Shyamala, have been married since 1971. They have two grown children, Vijay and Sheila, and six grandchildren.

Today’s guest is Anatoliy Raychynets, Deputy General Secretary of the Ukrainian Bible Society. In conversation with Joanna la Fleur, Anatoliy explains the current situation in Ukraine and how in a dark and uncertain time, there is a great hunger for the Word of God amongst people – which he says is unprecedented in his 22 years with the Bible Society.  Come listen to Anatoliy as he shares story after story of people seeking hope in the Scripture and how across Ukraine, the war is unifying the church.

Anatoliy Raychynets was born into a Christian family of clergymen, from his childhood Anatoliy watched his father and grandfather serve the church during the harsh times of the Soviet regime. He majored in Practical Theology from the Smyrna Theological Seminary in Norway and obtained a master’s degree from the Transcarpathian State University in Country Studies and Foreign Language Translation. Anatoliy majored in World History from the Uzhhorod National University. His thesis was on the topic "Conceptual foundations of Christian-Muslim theological dialogue".  

He has been serving the Ukrainian Bible Society since 2001 in various roles and is the author of the book "Raised by God" about the leaders of Protestant evangelical denominations.

Today’s guest is Bishop Jenny Andison, the Rector of Canada’s largest Anglican Church, St Paul’s Bloor Street in Toronto. She is the former area Bishop of York-Credit Valley in the Diocese of Toronto and became Rector of St. Paul’s Bloor in 2021.

Her most recent full-time role was as CEO of Crossroads Christian Communications, Inc. and the show, “Context with Lorna Dueck” 

Lorna was a regular commentary writer on faith and public life in Canada's leading national newspaper, The Globe and Mail, and is a frequent media commentator. She has travelled the world reporting on church-led response to humanitarian crisis.

We see - as Lorna out of her own story and exposure to the Bible from an early age until now - how to reconcile what we read in the news with what we read in the Bible, and how each can inform our prayerful consumption of the other. After a historic 70-year reign, HM Queen Elizabeth II passed away September 8, 2022. The outpouring of love, grief and reflection that has echoed around the world is a testament to her enormous impact and legacy. She led with grace and poise through tumultuous changes in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth but was also very public about how her faith in Christ helped her through difficult times. 

Her Royal Majesty has been the patron of the British and Foreign Bible Society. In this special podcast, seasoned journalist Lorna Dueck interviews a panel of 3 expert guests about the life and faith of Queen Elizabeth II. 

Our guests are Hon. David Onley who, as Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, served as the Queen’s Representative and hosted her Majesty in Ontario during the Queen’s last visit to Canada in 2010.

Rev. Dr. Andrew Stirling has followed the faith of the monarchy since learning his own great great grandfather was the Welsh Poet for Queen Victoria. Andrew’s great uncle was the moderator of the Church of Scotland of which Queen Elizabeth was the Monarch. Andrew is The Canadian Bible Society Ambassador and has just concluded 23 years as Senior Minister at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church.

We are also joined by A. Larry Ross, a renowned publicist who helped facilitate the relationship between Her Majesty the Queen and Rev. Billy Graham. Mr. Ross was present on several occasions when Rev. Graham was with the Queen, and when Rev. Graham preached to the Royal Family.

Dr. George Guthrie is a Professor of New Testament at Regent College and a highly sought-after lecturer, who has taught across North America and in East Asia, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Africa, and Israel. Before coming to Regent in 2018, he taught for twenty-eight years at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. He served as the Benjamin W. Perry Professor of Bible and Fellow in the Ryan Center for Biblical Studies. 

George is passionate about equipping church leaders and laypeople to read and live the Bible more effectively. To that end, he has published a number of works designed to help the church better understand and apply Scripture.
