Like many of us, Daniel Im has gone through some major losses in the last few years, including the loss of his father, and in this episode he talks about how he wrestles with grief, loss and change with the help of God and His Word.

Daniel Im is a husband, father and the lead pastor of Beulah Alliance Church in Edmonton, Alberta. He has his M.A. in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and has served and pastored in church plants and multisite churches ranging from 100 people to 50,000 people in Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, Korea, Edmonton, and Nashville.

Daniel has recently published a book entitled "You Are What You Do: And Six Other Lies about Work, Life, and Love." Daniel and his wife, Christina host a podcast called "The Im Between Show" where they discuss marriage and parenting. 

This conversation will connect with anyone who feels a bit disoriented coming out of this side of the pandemic, looking for truth and solid ground.

How do we wrestle with difficult passages of Scripture in a global and intercultural context? Reverend Doctor Andrew Stirling is here to share what life in ministry has taught him about the Bible and how it interacts with his everyday life. 

Reverend Doctor Andrew Stirling was the Senior Minister of Timothy Eaton Memorial United Church in Toronto, one of Canada's largest United Church congregations and was responsible for leadership and administration at Timothy Eaton from 1998 until his more recent retirement. 

Overseeing staff, providing visionary leadership, acting as the public representative of over 1,500 members and managing a dynamic and ever-evolving ministry to the city of Toronto and beyond.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Law from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, a Master of Divinity from the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax, Nova Scotia and a Doctor of Ministry in preaching from Acadia Divinity College, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. In 2008, Wycliffe College, Toronto, recognized his contribution to preaching with an honorary Doctor of Divinity.

Andrew is now also the Ambassador for the Canadian Bible Society building relationships with churches, academic institutions and individuals across Canada.

Domenic Ruso is the founding pastor of 180 Church in Laval and most recently finished his Ph.D. in Historical Theology at Trinity College, University of Toronto. Born and raised in Montreal, Dom's early faith experiences came from going to a Roman Catholic Church and later experiencing an added understanding of his faith within a Protestant context.  Having ministered in other provinces he returned and founded a Church in Quebec. Domenic has a thorough understanding of the challenges of a faith community in the Quebec context, and also partners with other churches who have a deep love for the province of Quebec and a desire to teach and reach people for Christ.

Vijay is a pastor in the Toronto area who started out his career in marketing, before feeling the pull towards church leadership. He loves to communicate about Jesus in clear language to skeptical people. In this episode he discusses his own influences in discovering the Bible for himself, how he reads it regularly, and his approach to teaching it to others.

Vijay Krishnan is the Lead Pastor at The Well. Vijay and his wife Jennifer were part of the group who “planted” The Well in 2005 and in 2009, he left his career in business to join the pastoral staff.

Growing up as a pastor’s kid, the church was always a big part of Vijay’s life. However, during his university years and subsequent corporate work experience, he discovered that for most people the church was an obstruction (not a pathway) to finding God. There were countless stories of individuals who were sincerely seeking God but encountered hypocrisy, hurt, irrelevance and boredom. Years later, when God opened a door for Vijay and his family to plant a church (The Well), they jumped at the opportunity.

This is a very special interview with Dr. Rick Tobias being interviewed by his friend Rev. Dr. Andrew Stirling. It may very well be the last one he is ever able to give. He has been fighting with illness for a long time and is now nearing the end of his time on earth, according to his medical team. We are so grateful for a look into what Scripture means to his life, how Jesus has impacted him over many years, and how he illuminates God’s heart for the broken, the needy, the messy, and the least of these.
