Season finale: Letlhogonolo Nthodi, Postgraduate LLB student

Listen Later

Letlhogonolo Nthodi holds a BA Law and English Literature degree from Wits University where she is currently pursuing her postgraduate LLB. She holds membership in the Golden Key Honors Society and served as a committee member for the period 2018-2019. During her tenure as the Professional Development director, she organised a number of events including a thinkers symposium aimed at discussing youth despondency towards voting. This discussion caught the attention of Y.FM where herself and a few of her committee members held an on-air debate.
In her spare time, Letlhogonolo tutors students through an online tutoring programme called Raetse. She also writes think pieces and her most recent piece is posted on her blog called The Round Table with Letlhogonolo Nthodi.
She is considering career prospects in one of the big five law firms with a particular interest in banking and finance. She hopes to cultivate her expertise in this area and eventually became Head of Legal as well as fulfil her passion of teaching by becoming a lecturer.

Season 1 of the podcast has come to an end. It has been an absolute pleasure hosting, boasting and amplifying the voices of women of colour in the legal profession. 2020 has been the perfect year for this season to run because the show ran parallel to 3 pandemics, namely, corona virus, racism and gender based violence. And I believe the platform really enabled myself and my guests to uncover ugly truths that are embedded in corporate culture and society as a whole. The conversations we held really managed to give us insights into how women can be the solution to society’s problems and how we can effectively use the law to achieve the outcomes we want.
Thank you to our listeners who constantly engaged with the platform, submitted feedback, suggested guests and shared their takeaways on social media. It has been an amazing 6 months with you all and I hope you will all be back with the same intensity for season 2 in early 2021.
The one thing I want to leave with you is: stop waiting for a bigger audience. Just start, and also just speak up. It’s important to use our voice for the things that matter. And even if one person receives your message, you would have done a good job in changing just that one perspective or narrative.
Please don’t forget to subscribe, catch up to all the episodes you’ve missed, rate the show then submit your review. Every star counts in the podcasting platforms.
I love you all immensely and keep safe.
