Ariel from Pooks Baked Goods joins us to talk about growing up with her father being a French chef and how she found a love for baking and food in general. We also talked about how Ariel is raising hens for the eggs in her baked goods and how dried flowers have become an important part of her gorgeous cakes! It was great having her on the show and hearing about the special memories food holds in her life.

We talked all about the business, how she has seen couples, friends, bridal showers and so many other groups connect over food and these picnic experiences. This week Andy and Kendyl from Three Creeks Produce, a farm in Columbus, talked about their unique relationships with food. We talked about how we each started to approach gardening and farming, how Three Creeks has built a community with their customers in a unique way and some of their favorite things to cook and grow from the farm. It was great to learn more about production farming and what makes food special to Andy and Kendyl!

Max McGarity shares how he got started in the food service industry, the good and bad of food trucks versus a brick and mortar shop as well as some of his favorite unconventional barbeque flavors. It was great to learn more about how the Smoked on High BBQ operates and how I find parallels to my own future career. 

This week Seth DeSantis shares his experiences growing up in an Italian family having Sunday dinners with the whole family and his mother's famous sauce recipe which created a great memory recently. From international travel trying comfort foods in many countries and some enriching experiences with the his "foodie" co-workers over the years, Seth has experienced a lot but a love of spice and seafood still elude him. Talking about how I am looking forward to cooking with housemates this semester Seth was reminded of good times with his college friends and garbage plates, a Rochester, NY specialty that you can truly only experience in person.

This week I talked again with Cori and Benjamin from Yellowood Farm. Had a great time talking to them about our favorite things to grow and eat, how they have interacted with and leaned on their food community and so much more. On this week's episode I welcome Rich back to the show, this time to talk about cake decorating! He shared how he got into making these amazing cakes and told many stories about each cake and how the method of buttercream transfer has made cake decorating accessible to really anyone!
