Had a great time talking about growing and experimenting in the kitchen with Grace Jones this week. Grace is a photographer by trade and general grower/homesteader outside of that. I really enjoyed seeing her garden, house in general and all of the little fermentation experiments and dried herbs around the house. Even if you have no interest in gardening I think you can take something interesting from our discussion, enjoy the episode!

Kelsey and Jenny's skills complement each other perfectly and it shows through their passion for food and peanut butter. After hearing many good things about their peanut butters I had to have Peanut Butter and Jenny on the show and it was great meeting them. Jenny is the mind behind the butters and everything inside the jar while Kelsey manages branding and everything outside the jar. So cool to see how they can complement each other's weaknesses and create a great business. LL & Josh from the Instagram account HippieBillyHomestead join me to talk about how important growing their own food is, what it means to cook and eat with family as well as some childhood food memories from apple pie to enchiladas. It was interesting for me to learn about how each of their family histories led them to try to be more self-sustainable and grow a significant amount of their food. Although not documented on the show it was great meeting LL & Josh at the farm hop in Canal Winchester this weekend! So cool for me when podcasting intersects with real life. 

I had the pleasure of visiting the Fairfield County Fair a few weeks ago with Trish and Ken from Preston Family Farms and it was so good getting to know them, about 4H, OSU Extension and had the opportunity to follow up with two of their three daughters after the fair. It was so interesting to experience the fair from a farming perspective and hear about what Lauren and Emma are up to at Ohio State as they pursue careers I usually don't hear much about. I learned so much in this episode and I hope you will take the time to listen to the Prestons' experiences and explore resources like OSU Extension because there are a lot of knowledge and activities available to you.

My housemate Aidan comes to talk about his past week eating only the $20 of groceries he bought at the beginning of the week. This week was filled with lots of grilled cheese, rice and beans and oatmeal for Aidan. Besides the challenges of his week we talked about some of our favorite foods growing up, some of the luxury meals we have had lately and things we are looking forward to this semester.

Damian Ettish from Fetty's Street Food came to share about his food journey and some of his favorite worldwide flavors. Damian told stories about his time in India, Thailand, Vietnam, South Africa and now Columbus. From keeping a food journal in India, documenting every spice he couldn't get the English name of to cooking with locals at various kitchens and restaurants across his journeys. We talked about our favorite street foods and really I got to admire some of the interesting experiences Damian had that inspire me to explore both locally and hopefully abroad sometime soon.

This week I talk with Adalyn and Emily about their new charcuterie board business and some of their most interesting experiences so far! It was so fun to talk to them about some of our favorite foods and come up with ideas of new themed board ideas. I think I need to go out and get some ingredients because I definitely want to make a board after this week's episode!
