Seek Reality - Roberta Grimes

For decades Dr. Jamie Turndorf, author of Love Never Dies, wrote and rewrote with her beloved husband, Jean Pin, an engrossing novel that Jean, now in spirit, has told her it is at last time to publish. The Calling is a colorful murder mystery built around a cover-up that Jean had discovered when he was a Jesuit priest working in the Vatican. And it is an intimate portrayal of the way it feels to be a young priest who wants to serve God but also yearns for the emotional and physical intimacies that his calling bars him from pursuing. Roberta couldn't put this book down!

Dr. R. Craig Hogan is president of the Afterlife Research and Education Institute (AREI), which is a new organization dedicated to supporting afterlife communication research, establishing better methods for easing the dying process, and aiding the spread of the New Spirituality, which the dead tell us is what we all have come here to learn. He will be announcing the AREI's exciting first symposium, September 15-17, 2017, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Please join us!

Roberta and Kelley began soon after this episode was first aired to write The Fun of Living Together, in which they talk about why America's race relations are so horrendous now and they share a plan for how we can altogether end our racial divisions in one generation. Please enjoy again this first conversation in which the idea for Roberta's next book was born!

Roberta was an ardent Christian for most of her life. Then when she found that the folks that we used to think were dead were consistently telling us that the Jesus of the Gospels is right, but the religion founded in his name is not, she began what became decades of seeking reality even far beyond the afterlife evidence. She has had some painful things to say in the past about the religion that she still loves. Now she will talk about the ways in which Christianity soon likely will be reformed so it can be a leader in proclaiming what is true.

Forty years ago, Icelandic researchers Erlendur Haraldsson and Karlis Osis conducted the first very large-scale study ever done of deathbed visions, a major category of afterlife evidence. Their important book,  At the Hour of Death, demonstrates pretty conclusively that the beautiful events surrounding death that so many of the dying describe are genuine and universal. This week Erlendur joins us all the way from Iceland to talk about what they learned then, and what it means for us today.

N. Riley Heagerty's Portraits from Beyond tells the fascinating story of Elizabeth and May Bangs, who were among the most prominent American physical mediums of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are most famous today for their ability to make full-color portraits of the dead appear on blank canvases, a phenomenon called "precipitated spirit painting." All of this was possible at a time when mediums were able to develop to an extent that modern distractions seem to make almost impossible now.

Kelvin Chin has been teaching people to overcome the fear of death for more than 30 years. His book, Overcoming the Fear of Death, outlines the four approaches that people take to thinking about death, and how we can overcome the kinds of fears that each approach tends to raise in us. His is a powerful approach to mastering our worst fears.

With the growing knowledge that human minds are eternal, hospice counselors and health care providers are starting to help patients take a happy approach to the death process and encouraging them to see death as the threshold to a greater life.

Roberta considers Susanne Wilson of Carefree, Arizona, to be the best living spiritual medium on earth. She credits Susanne's ability to put her into ongoing close touch with Thomas, her primary spirit guide, as what enables her to speak and write so prolifically. She hopes you will again enjoy this special conversation!

Despite their different histories, Roberta and Kelley share a frustration with the state of race relations in the United States, and a determination to inspire the world to live Dr. Martin Luther King's dream of universal brotherhood.
