I've lost count of the number of times I've had this exact conversation with my clients.
Do we use scripts for the most important conversations in life?
Of course we don't. When we're truly ourselves, we're not following any script.
My advice every time:
If something doesn't feel good, doesn't feel congruent, or doesn't feel like you…
Then don't do it.
I speak about someone I worked with, who had this exact problem. He had invested money and time into sales training, which involved him using "proven" scripts, but despite following it to the word, he was getting no results.
I walk through the process we followed to dig deep into what he was doing, why it wasn't working for him, and what he needed to do instead!
