  • You don't have to be right!

Hands down the most empowering sentence when trying to keep the peace with out loosing myself in the process.

When you embrace that you don't need to be right, and they don't need to be on board. They is no need to argue your point, or keep explaining your meaning.

If the other person is not open to what you are trying to communicate, you can explain all that you want.

As long as you know what you meant and you know YOUR truth.

    That is all you need.

  • You Should Be Ashamed of Yourself ❤️

Your biggest source of pain is the lies that your brain keeps bringing up.

This may look like something someone said to you long ago. Maybe you believed it then, and you've taken it on as part of your identity.

"You should be ashamed of yourself." That is my lie from way back as an 8 year old.  I didn't know that believing that was a choice, so it became part of who I was.

Here is how it continued to show up in my life.

I was ashamed of my appearance.
I was ashamed of who I was.
I was ashamed of what I did to deserve the title.

In this episode, I will share with you 3 Steps for Changing and Reframing the old lies your brain brings up for you.

Those lies are not WHO YOU ARE. They no longer have to a part of your identity.

  • Your health depends on your connections!

Our brains were wired to connect with each other and to interact in groups.

A Harvard study of Adult Development that has spanned over 3 decades has found that the function of your brain as well as your physical health depend greatly on your connections in your relationships.

However, connection and nurturing your relationships is a life long endeavor.

This is why I created the Relationship Audit. This is an easy tool to help you really reflect on the relationships you are in. If there is room for improvement, you get my top tips to help you to begin to repair any disconnection you may have in your most important relationships.

  • "How did I get here?"

One of the most painful questions you can ask yourself is "How did I get here?"

In this episode I explore the 3 answers to that question. Our behaviors are driven by our emotions. And because we are still carrying around a primitive, our emotions are often negative and on high alert for harm. We also don't realize that we have a set of habits that are keeping us from what we truly want our lives to be. And the last reason of how you got to where you are is not advocating for yourself. Not listening to your own inner wisdom and following through with it.

  • How is your relationship with money?

What stories have you been telling yourself about money?

I know mine were pretty sucky.
😱 I'm the spender in this relationship.
😱 I'm not good with money.
😱 That's how our parents did it.

This type of relationship lead to a ton of fear of never having enough money. It also lead to behaviors that continuously proved there was never enough money.

You don't have to have this type of relationship with money. After reading the book, The Psychology of Money, I quickly learned how to turn my ugly thoughts about money into curiosity about my behaviors with money.

Changing my behaviors is transforming my thoughts of how to live an abundant life with the money that I have.

    That is ultimate happiness creation!

  • Friendship Connections with Amanda McPherson

Friendships can happen in the most unexpected way. You simply have to keep an open heart about letting someone new into your circle.

Amanda and I found each other on Instagram. I loved what she had to say about life and how she lifts up other women through her coaching practice. When we decided to meet up over Zoom for coffee, we discovered that we have so much in common.

In this episode, she shares the struggles with moving and finding new circles, and she shares the unique ways that she has tried to find friend connections.

The biggest message that I hope you get from this episode, if you struggle to find friends, is that you have to put fear aside and let your own light shine into the world.

Be sure to subscribe to my podcast and share it out to anyone who needs this message.

  • Assumption and your adult children

Assuming that your children are going to do something, Mom, because YOU ask is only setting yourself up for heartache.

When we assume, we are telling our brain we believe it to be true. We tell ourselves that we know something will happen, but here is what we don't consider.

💎Other people have agency of what they want to do, or what they feel is in alignment for themselves.
💎It is actually pretty healthy for them to decide for themselves when they don't want to do something.
💎It does not mean that they don't love and respect your wishes.

Rather than assuming things about your adult children try having an open line of communication. Provide for them a safe space free from guilt and shame.

This will alleviate a ton a heartache on both sides. They don't want to hurt you, but they do want to honor their wants, needs and desires.

  • 2023 is the perfect season to be more connected.

It is becoming increasingly clear that at midlife besides the big M, our biggest changes are occurring within our relationships.

These women want more connection with their spouse especially those who are empty nesters or getting ready to experience empty nest. I’m hearing from a lot of my clients it feels like we just don’t really know each other any more or we make really good roommates.

The same type of connection they are seeking is with their adult children. Often in this season of our lives, we didn't really anticipate how much our relationship with our kids was going to change once they left the nest.

And last, a lot of my clients are experiencing true loneliness and are struggling with how to create friendships.

I am prepared to support me clients in all of these aspects. I am a huge advocate for human connection. I am firmly rooted in the belief that we were not meant to do life alone.
