The youth learn about team work and outdoor survival through a program called 4 Directions. Janet Doucet is a program coordinator with the city of Bathurst Daly Point Nature Reserve. She said the program also teaches empathy, because the the youth learn about the history of the region and its people and cultures.

When Andrea Colfer stepped onto the stage at Convocation Hall in Sackville to receive an honourary degree, she was representing more than just herself. Colfer is from the Elsipogtog First Nation. A new book sheds light on a dark chapter in Canadian and New Brunswick History. The book is called Dangerous Enemy Sympathizers: Canadian Internment Camp B 1940 - 1945. Historian Andrew Theobald is the author and he speaks with Shift host Vanessa Vander Valk.
