Patricia Dunnett, the park's general manager, said the park is open for visits all winter, and the snowshoeing even comes with traditional Mi'kmaq snacks.

Striped bass are eating more out-migrating juvenile salmon in the Miramichi River than previously thought, according to a new study published in the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. Lead author and biologist Jason Daniels said in some years, as many as 18 percent of the young salmon became food for bass.
