In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika and Giana re fired up about Blue Spring Ride and more than ready to deconstruct character motivations. Please note that Chika and Giana are reacting solely to the anime, and not the manga and anime. Listen to our disclaimer for more details. Both hosts question why Futaba felt the need to lie to Makita about her feelings for Kou in episode 6. They unleash the hottest fudge in history on Futaba's old friend, Yumi, in episode 7. Lastly, they rejoice in true friendship while also clapping back on infuriating behaviors that are corrosive to self-esteem in episode 8. Get ready for a ride, because Shoujo Sundae does not hold back this week.

"A lot of the time when you're grappling with a decision, if you look deep within yourself, you'll find that you knew what you wanted all along." - Giana Luna

In episode three, Floats Your Boat teeters precariously between being a glorified Banana Split segment. The sundae girls still can’t quite get over Kou’s “cheap” comment. In episode four, Giana and Chika applaud Tanaka-sensei for the way he handled an iffy situation, and also express mixed feelings about the “romantic” scenes between Kou and Futaba. In episode five, Giana comes up with some far-fetched symbolism about Sock the cat. Chika makes some interesting predictions regarding the evolving love triangle between Futaba, Kou, and Makita.
