August 21, 2022 Maid Sama's Obligatory Beach Episode (Maid Sama Eps 16-18)
In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika and Giana discuss episodes 16-18 of Maid Sama!. They dive into Maid Sama!’s “obligatory beach episode” and all of the shoujo hijinks involved. Chika revisits her thoughts on the infamous hickey scene years after reading it in the manga. Giana makes a confession about her tooth brushing routine. Later, they continue to advocate for and applaud young Aoi, who quite literally fights for the chance to live in their true identity in episode 17. Miyabigaoka returns in episode 18, and, along with their snooty rich kid attitudes, they bring forth rage inducing, unnecessary chaos.

July 24, 2022Shoujo Sungay (Maid Sama Eps 3-5)
In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika discuss episodes 3-5 of Maid Sama!. These episodes shed light on the importance of accepting and respecting people of all gender and sexualities, normalizing pronouns, and correcting people when they use incorrect pronouns.

Delving deeper into Misaki's job at Maid Latte, we're presented with pristinely-timed humor blended with themes of great leadership, friendship, and even a bit of...flirting? Calling it flirting is questionable (and you'll see why), but, to be honest, much of this show is questionable thus far...

Giana and Chika address the boys' oversexualizing of Misaki, middle schoolers being net idols (influencers), and the occasional ode to BDSM. They also share their candid thoughts on the weird, almost incestuous, vibes that Maid Latte's "Little Sister Day" gives off, as well as the persistent lack of faculty in Seika High School.

"To be honest, me and the faculty at Seika High have beef, and we'll figure out if it gets better when the series goes on." - Chika Supreme

If you take away anything from episodes 3-5 of Maid Sama!, take these sweet little cherries on top:
You can do anything if you set your mind to it, especially when you have a support system behind you.

Perseverance outside of our comfort zone can lead to success.

Being yourself is the most important thing.

Be vigilant when going out and about because you never know what can happen!
