How one tiny admin mistake turned into a minor business breakdown

Season 11, Episode 87: Show Up and Be Heard

Today’s episode of the podcast is a solo episode all about how one tiny admin mistake turned into a minor business breakdown… and the lessons it taught me about overwhelm, support, AI, and running a business mostly on your own.

What started as me accidentally getting locked out of Asana quickly spiralled into a stressful reminder of just how much mental load so many of us are carrying behind the scenes in business.

In this episode, I’m sharing the full story of what happened, why trying to solve it through AI support left me feeling even more overwhelmed, and how one conversation with a real human completely shifted everything.

I’m also talking about the importance of building businesses that support us back, not just relying on ourselves to hold everything together all the time, as well as sharing some practical ways to make life easier for future you, and avoid unnecessary stress when it comes to the systems and platforms we rely on every day.

BOSS THINGS YOU'LL LEARN IF YOU TUNE IN:

    1. Why overwhelm in business is often about mental load, not just workload
    2. The difference between AI support and human support when things go wrong
    3. Simple practical things you can do to better protect and support your business behind the scenes

If you enjoyed this episode or found it useful, then I would really appreciate if you could take just a few minutes to give it a review on whatever platform you are listening on - because every one I get really does make me do a little squeal and a happy dance!

How I’ve reduced overwhelm and prevented burnout in my business (with one simple shift)

Season 10, Episode 84: Show Up and Be Heard

In today’s episode, I’m sharing something I’ve introduced into my business recently that has genuinely been a game changer when it comes to managing overwhelm and avoiding burnout.

Because if you’re anything like me, you’re not just running a business. You’re juggling life, family, responsibilities, emotions, hormones, and about a million invisible tabs open in your brain at any given time. And it can feel like you’re constantly trying to keep up, constantly trying to do your best, and still somehow feeling like you’re falling short.

So this episode is for you if you’ve ever sat down to work already feeling behind. If you’ve ever tried to push through a bad day because your diary said you had to. If you’ve ever gone straight from parenting into work mode and felt like your brain just… didn’t catch up.

I’m going to talk you through something I call a “life is life-ing buffer” and how it’s completely changed the way I structure my days, how I protect my energy, and how I show up in my business without burning myself out in the process.

By the end of this episode, my hope is that you’ll feel a little bit lighter, a little bit less alone in how you’re feeling, and maybe inspired to find your own version of this that actually works for your business and your life.

If you enjoyed this episode or found it useful, then I would really appreciate if you could take just a few minutes to give it a review on whatever platform you are listening on - because every one I get really does make me do a little squeal and a happy dance!

A love letter to the woman juggling and feeling it all...

Season 10, Episode 83: Show Up and Be Heard

Today’s episode is a bit of a different one. It’s a love letter to the woman who is trying to juggle everything - from running a business, to holding her family together, all whilst navigating a world that feels really really bloody heavy right now.

And it was actually inspired by a morning where I really needed to hear this myself.

After a hard week of advocating for myself and the people I love, holding space, and feeling like I was constantly having to push against systems that don’t make things easy, I found myself overwhelmed, emotional, and honestly questioning whether I was the problem.

And I know I’m not alone in that, I am anything but, there are too many of us feeling exactly the same way, quietly wondering if we’re getting it all wrong.

So if you’ve been feeling stretched, emotional, like you’re carrying too much, or like you’re somehow failing at things that matter so very deeply to you, then this episode is for you.

Think of it as a reminder, a reframe, and a deep breath in the middle of everything you’ve got going on.

If you enjoyed this episode or found it useful, then I would really appreciate if you could take just a few minutes to give it a review on whatever platform you are listening on - because every one I get really does make me do a little squeal and a happy dance!

Practical ways to create more freedom in your business

Season 10, Episode 81: Show Up and Be Heard

In this episode, I’m sharing some honest reflections from the past few months, including how hitting milestones like 7 years in business, my podcast turning 2, and Boss Your Socials Club turning 3 has made me pause and think about how I want my business to feel moving forward.

I talk about what freedom really looks like for me (and why it’s about so much more than money or working from anywhere), why so many of us end up building businesses that feel overwhelming instead of freeing, and some simple, practical ways you can start creating more clarity, confidence, and space in your own business, without burning out.

How to build a business that will change your life, with Rebecca Cracknell

Season 9, Episode 80: Show Up and Be Heard

Today’s episode of the podcast is an interview with Rebecca Cracknell, identity and impact coach, and someone who is incredibly passionate about helping women build businesses that actually change their lives.

We have a really honest and practical conversation about what it really means to feel “stuck” in your business, why so many women don’t even realise they’re stuck in the first place, and how to start cutting through the noise of all the things you think you should be doing.

We also dive into self-trust, identity, and the stories we tell ourselves, and how they shape everything from how we work to what we believe is possible for us. And we explore how your business can be used as a tool to create a life that actually feels good, not just one that looks good on paper.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, pulled in lots of directions, or like you’ve got loads of ideas but no clear plan, this conversation will help you simplify things, refocus on what matters, and start taking action

    ABOUT REBECCA:

Rebecca Cracknell is the coach, mentor and teacher for women who are building the businesses that will change their lives.

Her work sees women become more visible both on and offline, embrace their vulnerabilities as their greatest strengths and unlock more ambitious visions for just how unimaginably satisfying their lives might get to look. She invites you to break free of the ‘shoulds’ society has taught you and create a personal mission that feels as powerful as you are.

Rebecca works with women at pivotal moments in their journey; those who are ready to challenge themselves through new opportunities, rewrite the stories about what’s possible for them and finally experience their true potential. The women she works with are bored by simply striving for surface level success and are craving a life where they get to build something that reflects who they truly are and allows them to fulfil their unique purpose with real passion.

Through ongoing 1:1 mentoring relationships, intimate group programs and workshops, and coaching experiences that don’t look like your typical Zoom call, Rebecca challenges female entrepreneurs to question everything they previously believed might be possible for them, rewrite the rules about how they want to show up for this game, and build something that truly honours their greatest ambition, purpose, and potential.

Rebecca is available for conversations that go deep on topics including redefining success and creating a vision rooted in your values and guest expert sessions exploring how to communicate the power of your work and all that you are.
