  • Play Like a Girl: Maybe We’ll Be Olympic Curlers Someday (02/08/22)
On LGHL’s Play Like a Girl podcast, Meredith Hein welcomes in friends from around the LGHL, Ohio State, and sporting worlds to talk everything from Ohio State sports to advocacy for women in sports and all the happenings in between.
Welcome back, folks, and thanks to Jami for crossing over from the Stick to Sports podcast for an episode this week.
And what a week it was! We’re just a few days into the Winter Olympics, but already have seen some exciting gold medal performances (looking at you, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott), renewed rivalries (hello Team USA hockey vs. Canada) and more Buckeyes on the ice than we realized! Plus, the pair, both with Chicago connections, talk their gold medal “dibs” performances and other things that feel like Olympic sports but aren’t.
Also this week, Jami and Meredith got into their Super Bowl priorities, and strongly advise against trying to have your romantic Valentine’s date on Sunday night this year.

  • I-70 Football Show: The Lower Bowl Tier
Welcome to Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 Football show where we discuss the entire Big Ten from Rutgers to Ohio State. You can catch us every Monday breaking down the major games, storylines and previewing the next weeks slate! If you love the Big Ten, pack a bag, jump in the car and enjoy the ride!
Dante is back! in this episode we start by discussing all things, Jim Harbaugh. How did he not get an NFL job when he had personal connections to four of the jobs? What does it mean for Michigan that he was flirting with the NFL; do they believe he won't keep looking each off season? Plus is Harbaugh lucky this happened in Michigan? What would OSU fan's do in the same position if it was Ryan Day trying to get an NFL job and begrudgingly coming back?
In our post season tiers we discuss Rutgers, Maryland, Minnesota and Purdue. Rutgers and Maryland slightly exceeded expectations by making a bowl game. Their coaches have taken steps towards relevance, can they improve in the 2022 campaign? Minnesota and Purdue had great seasons both finishing 9-4, find out what program we believe will take a step back in 2022 and which one may be in the Big Ten Championship game.
Lastly, we get into NFL updates, Big Ben and Tom Brady retired, while Sean Payton retired until he can get the Cowboys job. Brian Flores puts his career in jeopardy by bringing a racial discrimination lawsuit against in the NFL.
In their weekly pit stops Jordan discusses delusional fans and why Lincoln Riley isn't a bad person. The same can't be said for Dan Snyder as Dante discussed the Washington Commanders and their ongoing investigation.

  • LGHL Uncut: Holtmann, Ahrens, Key discuss Ohio State’s big home victory over Maryland (02/06/22)
Throughout the season, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conference, but also from individual interview sessions.
In this episode you will hear from both head coaches — Chris Holtmann and Danny Manning — as well as select Ohio State players following Ohio State’s 82-67 victory over Maryland Sunday afternoon in the Schottenstein Center. Manning spoke first, repeating several times that Ohio State has several guys who can really make you pay, and that allowing a team to shoot 60% in the first half isn’t going to win you many games.
Then, Justin Ahrens — and later Zed Key — step in to discuss Ohio State’s tenth home victory of the season in 10 tries. Ahrens took questions alone first, as Key was held up speaking to his adoring fans as he tried to exit the arena floor. Ahrens talked about the stress of going through the tough stretch he went through, and the vitriol some fans had been showing him lately. Key also sang Ahrens praises and expressed how happy he was for his teammate following his big game.
Finally, Holtmann talked to the media about starting and finishing strong, something he says the Buckeyes were not able to do against Purdue last weekend. He expressed how happy he was for Ahrens, and thanked the Buckeye Nuthouse for “consistently being phenomenal” all season long.

  • Stick to Sports: OSU Women's Hockey is All Over the Olympics, Curling is THE Must Watch Event (02/06/22)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s Stick to Sports is unlike any podcast you’ve heard on the Ohio State beat. Your hosts, Matt Tamanini and Jami Jurich, will (of course) talk Ohio State sports, but the primary focus of the show will be on what’s going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games, whether that’s pop culture, social media trends— you name it.
On this episode of Land-Grant Holy Land's "Stick to Sports" podcast, LGHL's resident Winter Olympics guru Jami Jurich gives Matt a breakdown of all of the Buckeyes competing in Beijing over the next few weeks. Surprisingly, all but one of them is a current or former women's hockey player. Jami also attempts to convince everyone to watch more of her favorite Olympic sport -- and perhaps favorite sport in general -- curling.
The two also discuss John Daly's pants, screw up basic European geography, and recommend two true crime/true crime-adjacent properties at the end of the episode.

  • The Dotted Line: Recapping This Week's National Signing Day and Looking Forward to 2023 (02/05/22)
On “The Dotted Line”, Land-Grant Holy Land’s Matt Tamanini talks to recruiting experts, LGHL’s recruiting analysts, and prospects themselves to get a unique perspective on the players that will be a part of Ohio State’s future.
On this episode of LGHL's recruiting-centric podcast, Matt and Shane "@BuckeyesCrootin" Bailey look back at Wednesday's surprise-free National Signing Day and assess that Ryan Day and his staff (new and old) were able to put together in a defense-heavy class. They also use the opportunity to turn the page and begin assessing the needs for the 2023 cycle and look at what players fans should keep an eye for potential BOOMs and longterm recruiting battles.

  • Buck Off Podcast: Meeting the new coaches, player introductions, and Jim Harbaugh is back
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined, as always, by Jordan Williams for the fourth episode of Ohio State’s offseason and we discuss the return of JIm Harbaugh to Michigan who never left, but sure acted like he did.
We begin the show by talking about the impact of Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan for the NFL, and the fall out of him having to return after not receiving an offer. The discussion heads into how a staff recovers from the instability and if Harbaugh is serious about his words that every offseason won’t be this way.
After that conversation we discuss the introductory press conferences and we get into our favorite moments. We talk Justin Frye’s approach, Perry Eliano’s confidence, and why we think Tim Walton will be a star for the Buckeyes. We close out with Jim Knowles and how he is an architect in football coaches clothing.
After the break, we get into the player introductions and our infatuation with Devin Brown. We also discuss Tanner McAlister and how the young guys seemed extremely prepared. Then we get into some of the quick news notes surrounding the Buckeyes.
Our final discussion is about the new group licensing deal Fanatics unveiled and why we’re extremely excited for it.

  • Bucketheads: There are no “moral victories” in college basketball (02/03/22)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. ‘Bucketheads’ will be released every Thursday morning throughout the regular season.
At first it looked like a good old-fashioned ass-beating, but the No. 16 Ohio State Buckeyes (13-5, 6-3) orchestrated a furious comeback this past weekend in Mackey Arena, falling just short of the Boilermakers, 81-78. The guys talk about why it’s okay to feel good about some aspects of that game, while also not giving the Buckeyes a pass for the things that clearly cost them a huge road victory.
Connor and Justin also examined what the expectations should be for Ohio State men’s basketball on a year-to-year basis. Are the Buckeyes a blue-blood that should be competing for a national championship every season? Are they a football school that also has a competitive basketball program? Somewhere in between, perhaps?
The fellas close it out by briefly reacting to the news of Jim Harbaugh spurning the NFL and returning to Michigan, and telling listeners what to expect from Iowa this evening when the fighting Frans come to town.

  • Hangout in the Holy Land: Talkin’ Bengals, Buckeyes at Purdue, Ohio State’s new coaches (02/02/22)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast ‘Hangout in the Holy Land’ is back! Join LGHL’s co-managing editor Gene Ross alongside his co-host Josh Dooley as they cover everything from football to basketball to recruiting and more!
On this week’s episode, Gene once again lets Josh have the floor to talk about his Bengals making it to the Super Bowl with help from a handful of former Buckeyes. The guys then discuss Ohio State’s battle with Purdue at Mackey Arena on Sunday, in which we learned a lot about Chris Holtmann’s team moving forward. Finally, we hear from all of Ohio State’s brand new assistants for the first time in addition to some roster updates from Ryan Day, including one former starter who will no longer be with the team.
Hangout in the Holy Land’s will now return to one episode a week during the offseason, dropping every Wednesday (don’t hold us to that). • Play Like a Girl: How three Buckeyes got the Bengals to the Super Bowl (02/01/22)
On LGHL’s Play Like a Girl podcast, Meredith Hein and Megan Husslein talk everything from Ohio State football to all the happenings in the sports world today.
Welcome back, folks! If we were expecting a letdown after the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs, we were sorely mistaken. This week, Megan and Meredith talk the latest slate of games ahead of a surprising Super Bowl matchup. It didn’t hurt that three former Buckeyes had major plays on defense to secure the win for the Bengals.
Plus, where would we be without more entertaining moments from our favorite once-upon-a-time Ohio State quarterback, Joe Burrow?
The NFL wasn’t the only thing in action this weekend. Meredith and Megan also discussed the Winter Olympics, opening this week, plus more on the Australian Open.

  • I-70 Football Show: What would the Big Ten look like without divisions
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
In the second ever solo episode Jordan gets into what the Big Ten could look like without divisions. In what will be a major off season for the Big Ten that includes a new media deal and expanded playoff negotiations there is now a potential removal of divisions. Since 2014 the Big Ten has been split into two - seven team divisions based on geography. With an expanded playoff on the horizon and lopsided divisions the conference is doing the smart thing by getting rid of them.
In this episode Jordan gets into why the Big Ten would remove divisions and how they could do it in a way that makes sense. He also walks through his ideal pairing for protected rivalries and what trophy games should continue in the new set up.
In his weekly pit stop Jordan takes a moment to recognize the greatness of Joe Burrow, better known as OSU Joe. In his second year in the NFL, he led the Cincinnati Bengal to the Super Bowl. This is after leading LSU to the national championship in his second season. Joe Burrow brings talent, confidence, and energy with him wherever he goes and is turning around the Bengal right before our eyes.
