On this week’s episode, Gene Ross is joined by Matt Tamanini to discuss the latest on the Ohio State football offseason. The guys break down all of the recent coaching moves for the Buckeyes, including the hirings of Perry Eliano and Tim Walton as well as a number of new defensive assistants. They then get into the NFL Draft decisions for a handful of Ohio State players who have chosen to return to Columbus for another season, plus their thoughts of what the Buckeyes need from their defense in order to win a national title.

From the list of the top-paid female athletes in the world (spoiler: Naomi Osaka makes just a third of what Conor McGregor does) to building a super fem-focused watchlist (King Richard and Earning it NFL, anyone?) to a discussion on the merits of Joe Burrow’s sunglasses, it was certainly an exciting week in sports. 

Of course, that doesn’t even account for the NFL Playoffs, including three huge blowouts (that’s what you get with a 14-team playoff), a not-so-friendly sendoff for Big Ben, hot Super Bowl picks and our favorite goofy sports takes.

On this episode, you will hear from four individuals following the Ohio State men's basketball 61-56 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions at the Schottenstein Center on Sunday, Jan. 16. Up first, Penn State head basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry talks to the collected media about his team's fight over the past few week, despite the defeat.

Then, Ohio State players Jamari Wheeler and Eugene Brown III discuss the hard-fought victory. Wheeler, who transferred to OSU from Penn State in the offseason talks about what he saw in facing his former team for the second time this season. The pair discussed the defensive effort by both teams and what head coach Chris Holtmann said to them in an early timeout that got them refocused.

Finally, Holtmann discusses the sluggish offensive performance, what he has learned about his team in the games following the Covid pause, and what he described as "the play of the game."

Land-Grant Holy Land’s Stick to Sports is unlike any podcast you’ve heard on the Ohio State beat. Your hosts, Matt Tamanini and Jami Jurich, will (of course) talk Ohio State sports, but the primary focus of the show will be on what’s going on around the periphery, such as weird/funny happenings in college football and the sports world at large, as well as other things that keep us interested in between games, whether that’s pop culture, social media trends— you name it.

On this episode of "Stick to Sports," Jami and Matt discuss their complicated and often conflicting emotions about the departure of Ohio State defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs. Though his tenure as DC was nowhere near as successful as fans would have liked, Coombs has contributed a lot to the program during his two tenures, including turning the defensive secondary into the #BIA.

The pair also discuss the latest addition to the "Scream" franchise as they both saw the new horror whodunit in its opening week. Then, as always, they finished the show with very eclectic recommendations, unintentionally both coming from Hulu this week.

On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined, as always, by Jordan Williams for the second episode of Ohio State’s offseason and a huge one at that.

We begin the show by talking about the flamethrower Ryan Day just tok to the defensive coaching staff and we give a run down of all the new names. We discuss their positions and the importance of the fresh faces in the room. Then we talk about what all these coaches have in common and bring to the table for the Buckeyes.

After that we get into a discussion about the final outlook of the staff. We assume there will be no additional changes, so we talk about the new offensive line coach for the Buckeyes, the lack of work Kevin Wilson does, and the value Parker Fleming doesn’t bring to the table in his special teams coordinator role.

After the break, we then get into our 2022 depth chart projections. We discuss the offense and how we see the receiver depth playing out. Then we get into the build of the offensive line and C.J. Stroud being QB1 in the 2022 draft.

Our final discussion is our defensive depth chart projections. We discuss the LEO position, how the linebacker room will look, and what we think will happen at the defensive back positions under Jim Knowles.

Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. ‘Bucketheads’ will be released every Thursday morning throughout the regular season.

On Episode 23 of the Bucketheads podcast, Connor and Justin recap one of the best offensive games of the season for the Buckeyes as the defeated Northwestern last Sunday. The Buckeyes now have a matchup against Wisconsin tonight that could be an important one for the conference standings.

The hoops team also has three games in five days now after scheduling IUPUI for a game on Tuesday, although that one should not be a big deal and we will tell you why.
