Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.

Happy New Years! We hope you had a wonder holiday and good luck on all your resolutions. In this week’s episode we recap a pretty success and wild bowl slate for the Big Ten. After starting 5-0 the conference ended bowl season with a 6-4 record, not bad but not great. We get into Michigan's disappointing showing against a dominant Georgia, Michigan State 11th win, and instant classics by Purdue against Tennessee and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl against Utah. Aidan O'Connell of Purdue and C.J. Stroud both throw for over 500 yards as their teams find a way to win 48-45 in their respective matchups.

Jordan wins the bowl game competition with a record of 8-2 bringing his final tally to 103-75 for the season. Dante finishes 6-4 with a final record of 99-79 but he must wear a Clemson shirt and by wings for the National Championship.

In their weekly pit stops Dante can't stand ex-players, coaches, and media members who complain about players who opt out of bowl games. Stop saying they don't love football by trying to protect their future. Jordan gets into the Black QB revolution, slowly but surely the number of black quarterbacks in the NFL is increasing and will continue to increase as C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young look to be the first quarterbacks taken in the 2023 NFL Draft. '

Lastly, RIP to the Legends John Madden and Betty White. Condolences to their family and a quick thank you for all the memories we have of them and their work!

The Buckeyes fought back to beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers 87-79 in overtime, but that required a Herculean effort from true freshman Malaki Branham who went off for a career high 35 points.

In this episode of the Land Grant Holy-Land’s instant recap podcast, Chris Renne is joined by Josh Dooley to have a conversation about C.J. Stroud, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and the remaining question marks on defense heading into the offseason.

They spoke on Friday morning, just before AJ began his trek west to Pasadena in time for this afternoon’s Rose Bowl matchup between the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 11 Utah Utes.

In the conversation, they discussed the Utes’ reputation as a physical team led by their lines on both sides of the ball, what makes their offense tick, what issues the Buckeyes might be able to exploit, and the last legacy of Urban Meyer at Utah.

On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined, as always, by Jordan Williams to discuss Ohio State’s Rose Bowl matchup against the Utah Utes.

We begin the show by talking about why all bowl games matter and if you think there are too many that’s a you problem. Then we get into a discussion about opt-outs and why the few doofuses who have a problem with this are so far in the wrong it’s abhorrent.

After that we get into a discussion about the Buckeyes heading into their Rose Bowl match up. We discuss the offensive line after Kevin Wilson’s comments, Cade Stover being the prime example of poor recruiting practices, and what to expect from the Buckeyes heading into the Rose Bowl matchup.

After the break, we start getting into Ohio State’s opponent Utah. We discuss how everything Utah does well is exactly what has beaten Ohio State this year. Then we talk about the players to watch for the Utes and why this team matches up extremely well against the Buckeyes. We close out this conversation with our score predictions and how Ohio State will win this game.

Our final discussion gets into the College Football Playoff, we discuss the two matchups and give our prediction for who’s going to be playing in the championship game.

Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. On LGHL’s Play Like a Girl podcast, Megan and Meredith talk everything from Ohio State sports to advocacy for women in sports and all the happenings in between.

Welcome back! We may be approaching the end of 2021, but we’ve got the same old story dominating sports headlines: COVID-19. Several bowl games have been cancelled, creating an abrupt end to the season for many teams, but others — namely Rutgers — have another shot as they’re backfilling teams that had to drop out of their bowl games due to COVID outbreaks. 

Even Ohio State’s men’s basketball game against New Orleans, initially scheduled for Tuesday night, was cancelled just moments after Meredith and Megan finished recording. 

But there was some good news from the week, like the NBA on Christmas Day, and Joe Burrow’s performance against the Ravens Sunday. Oh, and the fact that, for the first time ever, the NFL saw two women coaching position groups!
