  • Play Like a Girl: When will we see another defensive player win the Heisman? (12/13/21)
On LGHL’s Play Like a Girl podcast, Megan and Meredith talk everything from Ohio State sports to advocacy for women in sports and all the happenings in between.
Welcome back! With bowl season nearly upon us, we’re rapidly approaching one of the most wonderful times of the year. The only downside is that we just had our last regular season college football game of 2021 with the annual Army vs. Navy game this past weekend.
But of course, there’s no shortage of off the field drama to discuss, and Megan and Meredith talked through some of the biggest headlines of the last week, including more coaching carousel moves, transfer portal decisions and, on the NFL side, Urban Meyer’s continued struggles to find his way as an NFL head coach in Jacksonville.
But even without an abundance of football, there’s been plenty of excitement from the hardcourt, including a huge conference win for the Ohio State men’s basketball team over Wisconsin.

  • I-70 Football Show: A Season Gone too Fast
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
In this episode Dante and Jordan get a jump start on the off-season conversation. What are the initial thoughts from the season? This season had to most parity we've seen in a long time, our pre-season picks were way wrong, and how much did super seniors affect the results. Will there be more parity next season or is Ohio State going to win it all again with a more experienced roster?
Ohio State and Penn State both make flashy defensive coordinator hires with Jim Knowles from Oklahoma State and Manny Diaz from Miami respectively. The boys get to live react to Quinn Ewers transferring to Texas and try to figure out where Adrian Martinez and Michael Penix Jr. play next season. Also, we send a major congrats to Aidan Hutchinson and C.J. Stroud for being Heisman Finalist.
In their weekly pit stops they take a moment to honor Demaryius Thomas who tragically passed away at 33 years old. We're sending thoughts and prayers out to his loved ones as they grieve the loss of an amazing human being.

  • LGHL Uncut: Full press conference following No. 21 Ohio State’s thumping of No. 22 Wisconsin (12/12/21)
Throughout the season, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conference, but also from individual interview sessions.
In addition to Thursday’s weekly Bucketheads episode, we also have the full post-game press conference following No. 21 Ohio State’s convincing victory over the No. 22 Wisconsin Badgers Saturday afternoon. We heard from Chris Holtmann, Greg Gard, E.J. Liddell (28 points), and Jamari Wheeler ( 9 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists) just minutes after Ohio State’s fourth-straight win.
Holtmann spent some time talking about his team’s defense and the upcoming week of preparation before they face Kentucky. Gard was short with some of his responses, but said his team let Ohio State get too many close, open looks.

  • The Dotted Line: Talking Sonny Styles, Zachariah Branch, recruiting transfer portal (12/10/21)
On “The Dotted Line”, Land-Grant Holy Land’s Matt Tamanini talks to recruiting experts, LGHL’s recruiting analysts, and prospects themselves to get a unique perspective on the players that will be a part of Ohio State’s future.
So, here’s the thing, this episode was recorded on Monday night, so four days later a lot has changed for Ohio State between Jim Knowles being hired as the new defensive coordinator, Xavier Nwankpa committed to Iowa, and Sonny Styles reclassified to the 2022 class. But, Matt Tamanini and Caleb Houser talk about all of those things as well as the future of the quarterback recruiting now that Devin Brown is in the fold.
They also discuss the philosophy of playing younger, more talented, players over veterans especially on defense and their thoughts on Ryan Day’s coaching staff.

  • Buck Off: Jim Knowles, recruiting for ESD, and coaching carousel update
On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined, as always, by Jordan Williams to discuss Ohio State’s recent defensive coordinator hire in Jim Knowles and get into some of the other stories surrounding #BuckeyeNation.
We begin the show by talking about Ohio State making the big time move of hiring the biggest name on the coordinator market in Jim Knowles. We discuss how the defense will be philosophically different and schematically different. Then we also discuss the type of person Knowles is given the reaction from his former players. We also discuss his special linebacker positions
Moving forward, we get into a discussion about some of the recent recruiting news in the Sonny Styles reclassification and the Xavier Nwankpa commitment news. This gets us into a discussion about safety depth and potential play time for the young guys coming in. We also discuss the Elias Ricks situation.
After that we discuss recruiting we get into some quick hits with Marcus Freeman hating the Buckeyes and C.J. Stroud’s invite to New York City for the Heisman ceremony. We transition into an early signing day preview and discuss some of the prospects Ohio State is in on and still waiting to hear from.
Our final discussion gets into the two recent big school hires in Brett Venables to Oklahoma and Mario Christobal to Miami. We discuss their fits at the school, what we expect from them, and how we feel their going to fair over the next few years. Then we ask: Do you feel bad for Manny Diaz?
Lastly, we close out the show with our final thoughts from the week and for the offseason.

  • Bucketheads: Buckeyes starting to piece it together, 2021-22 Big Ten crash course (12/09/21)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. ‘Bucketheads’ will be released every Thursday morning throughout the regular season.
Fresh off Ohio State’s 76-64 victory over Penn State on Sunday night, Connor and Justin discuss how the Buckeyes are beginning to form an identity on offense without a de-facto second scorer. They also preview Towson very briefly and talk about how Wisconsin — OSU’s opponent on Saturday — has exceeded expectations thus far.
They also pay their respects to St. John’s, who they have definitively decided are a bad basketball team after getting throttled by Kansas this past weekend.
The guys wrap it up by giving the “seasonal” CBB fans a rapid fire recap of each Big Ten team thus far. Justin explains that Minnesota is bad despite their 7-0 record, while Connor stumps for 5-4 Nebraska.

In addition to Thursday’s weekly Bucketheads episode, we also have the full post-game press conference following Ohio State’s 85-74 victory over the Towson Tigers in the Schottenstein Center. We heard from Chris Holtmann, Kyle Young (18 points), and Zed Key (13 points) for about 25 minutes following the Buckeyes’ late-night win.

  • Hangout in the Holy Land: Jim Knowles is the first big move for Ohio State’s staff (12/08/21)
Land-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast ‘Hangout in the Holy Land’ is back to break down all of the news, rumors, games, and more around Ohio State athletics. Join LGHL’s co-managing editor Gene Ross alongside his co-host Josh Dooley as they cover everything from football to basketball to recruiting and more!
In a more “offseason”-style episode of the podcast, Gene and Josh discuss the latest in transfer portal news for Ohio State, including names like Elias Ricks and Austin Stogner. They then receive some breaking news while recording, as the Buckeyes hired Jim Knowles as their new defensive coordinator. The guys break down what the means for Ohio State and its staff, also discussing the latest flurry of moves around the college football coaching carousel from Brent Venables to Mario Cristobal and a few others in between.

  • Play Like a Girl: Reliving a championship weekend without Ohio State (12/07/21)
On LGHL’s Play Like a Girl podcast, Megan and Meredith talk everything from Ohio State sports to advocacy for women in sports and all the happenings in between.
Welcome back! It was weird to not have Ohio State football on this weekend, but perhaps that’s a sign of how fortunate we’ve been as fans. Four-straight conference titles is a pretty big deal!
Given the lack of Buckeye football, though, Megan and Meredith recap the Big Ten Championship game, and talk the College Football Playoff field that resulted from a largely-as-expected championship Saturday (well, except for what happened in Atlanta…)
But the season is not over. The Playoff field is one of the more intriguing ones after a bananas season, and the offseason drama — including yet more coaching changes — is already screaming at a fever pitch.

  • I-70 Football Show: Michigan dominates Iowa en route to a CFP appearance
Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s I-70 podcast. On this show we talk all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will get you caught up on all the conference’s games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players that you should be paying attention to in the next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan.
Michigan continues to win in dominating fashion. After getting the monkey off their back against their rival Ohio State, the Wolverines destroy Iowa 42-3. After an early 14-3 lead that lasted until halftime Josh Gattis and his offense started rolling in the second half and left no questions unanswered on the final Saturday of the regular season. Many of us expected Michigan to win but not so sure we expected this type of performance as Iowa offense couldn't move the ball and the defense allowed multiple big plays. After a tough 2020, Michigan has won the Big Ten and plays No. 3 Georgia in the playoff semi-finals with a spot in the national championship on the line.
Aside from the playoff discussion, college football hasn't slowed down. With championship games, coaching carousel, transfers and bowl game announcements there is breaking news every hour. In this episode the boys also discuss what bowl games the nine eligible teams landed in and what to coaching changes caught their interest.
In their weekly pit stops Jordan discusses Kent State's special season and them landing in the Famous Idaho Potato bow game. Dante celebrates Alabama's win over Georgia after telling Jordan all season that Bama would win this game.
