It was a surprising win for the Buckeyes, not because they won, but because Ohio State was able to handle what looked to be a solid conference opponent the same way it did Akron last week. 

Speaking of the rest of the conference, the Buckeyes are back in the top-10 in the latest AP Poll, joined by three other Big Ten buddies (Iowa, Penn State, Michigan). Best conference in football? I think so.

The Big Ten only has five games this week due to a bunch of teams having bye weeks so there is not a lot to watch for. Which Nebraska team will show up when they play Michigan? Can Ohio State replicate their success and blow out Maryland or will Maryland recover from their 7 turnover performance?

In their weekly pit stops Jordan celebrates the Colts finally getting a win and has some fun at Clemson's expense. Dante disagrees with another Top 25 ranking and makes his case to become an overpaid sports analyst.

Coming into the week, we didn’t quite know what to expect from the Buckeyes after a dominant performance against a really bad Akron team. However, it turns out a healthy C.J. Stroud is pretty darn good, as Ohio State beat up on Rutgers 52-13 — and it could have been a heck of a lot worse if Ryan Day didn’t show mercy to former OSU coordinator Greg Schiano by emptying the bench. Gene and Josh break down what they saw on both sides of the ball, including the Heisman-potential of TreVeyon Henderson and the emergence of Tyliek Williams. They finish up with a whip around of the Big Ten and the current state of the conference and college football at large.

The Ohio State Buckeyes scored early against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and never looked back as they raced out to a 45-6 halftime lead before slowing things down after halftime to secure a 53-13 victory.

Despite this being this fourth start of the season, Saturday afternoon was official C.J. Stroud’s coming out party, and friends, did he make the most of it. The second-year freshman was 17-for-23 for 330 yards and 5 touchdowns and after a week off to rest an ailing shoulder, he shut the door on any and all legitimate conversations about who should be Ohio State’s starting quarterback.

On the LGHL Instant Recap Podcast, Chris Renne and Matt Tamanini discuss Stroud’s near-perfect performance, the impressive — but short — outing by TreVeyon Henderson, the big game from Chris Olave, and more on the offensive side of the ball.

But, the biggest impression was made by the guys on the defense. While Rutgers is not a premiere Big Ten offense, the Buckeyes’ performance on Saturday afternoon proved that the changes that Ryan Day, Kerry Coombs, and Matt Barnes have been making are beginning to work.

On this episode, Matt and longtime LGHL friend, the Columbus Dispatch's assistant sports editor Lori Schmidt, get into all of messy details of the outburst that former Ohio State linebacker K'Vaughan Pope had on the sidelines and in the locker room last Saturday during the game against Tulsa.

Lori believes that a handful of media outlets rushed to judgment on the situation and perhaps exacerbated the anger that fans were feeling towards Pope. Matt and Lori also discuss the overboard level of vitriol spewed towards Pope by Ohio State "fans."

On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined as always by Jordan Williams to discuss this monumental game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in Piscataway, NJ.

The guys get started by getting into some of the biggest storylines form the week and discuss what you guys should expect from this game. Land-Grant Holy Land’s newest podcast, ‘Bucketheads’ takes you on a journey across the college basketball landscape every episode. The only basketball-focused podcast in the LGHL family of podcasts, co-hosts Connor Lemons and Justin Golba give the latest scoop on the Ohio State Buckeyes as well as all the other happenings in the college hoops world. During the offseason the Bucketheads will release an episode once every two weeks, with the structure shifting to weekly as we get closer to college basketball season.

During Episode 9 of the Bucketheads podcast, the boys talked about the big Boom! on the recruiting front and possibly a miss, the Buckeyes had media day which unfortunately neither of the Bucketheads could attend and St Johns had a mutiny last season we think?
