In the first recap episode of "Hangout in the Holy Land" of the 2021 season, Gene Ross and Josh Dooley get into all of the ups and downs from Ohio State's 45-31 victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday night. While there were some familiar issues on the defense, given the injuries and the bizarre rotation, there were plenty of things on that side of the ball to be encouraged by.

The offense struggled in the second quarter, but the unit looked strong the rest of the game, and for his struggles on seemingly easy passes, C.J. Stroud put up pretty impressive numbers in his starting debut, Chris Olave continued to show why he's the No. 1 wide receiver in the country, and Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson proved that they are legit home run hitters at running back.

The Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Minnesota Gophers 45-31 in a rain filled contest.

Jordan Williams and Christopher Renne provide an instant recap show to break down how Ohio State was able to take control of the game in the second half. They also discuss the struggles Ohio State had and what they need to fix as a the season progresses. CJ Stroud made his debut, it was up and down, but there are a lot of positives to take.

Then they get into a discussion on the most impactful plays of the game, the players who shined brightest, and how in a tough conference road game to start the season it was a strong performance all things considered.

The next game for Ohio State will be September 11th against the Oregon Ducks.

The team is looking to get to 10-0 against the Ducks and get a marquee out of conference win.

On today’s episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” it is officially game day!!! As always I’m joined by Jordan Williams to discuss what week one will bring for Ohio State football as they take on the Minnesota Gophers.

We start the show discussing the return of Buckeye football and how college football as a sport is like no other. Then we get into a discussion about how exciting the community the sport creates is and how we’re just excited to be talking football, all the traditions being back, and seeing fans back in the stands.

Moving forward we discuss some of the presser points from throughout the week to gauge the expectations the team has set. We get into talking points from Ryan Day, Brian Hartline, Kerry Coombs, and a few of the players.

We then get into Minnesota and preview the challenge they provide for the Buckeyes week one highlighting Mohamed Ibrahim and the difference makers for the Gophers. Continuing in that discussion we also discuss the schemes tor the Gophers on offense and defense leading us to discussing how Ohio State can take advantage of them.

Then we get into the biggest storylines for Ohio State heading into the game including QB CJ Stroud, expectations for the Buckeyes defensively, and what a successful outcome looks like for the Buckeyes on top of winning.

Lastly, we get into a discussion about Quinn Ewers becoming a million dollar man without ever taking a snap and close out the show with our final score predictions.

We start the show discussing the depth chart and how we think the two deep will look to start the season. Some of it was very easy, but there are still some question marks at some key positions going into game week.
