In this episode of the Simple Reflections Podcast I’m joined by Rose Latham, a Leadership and Life Coach from Salisbury in Wiltshire.

I hardly know Rose, but from what I’ve experienced, she is a lady on a mission.  She has immersed herself in her pursuit of her own personal growth and that of clients and it’s infectious!  I this episode we flit between the structure of our former careers to the openness of creating coaching experiences be that one-to-one or within a group setting.

We also talk about our – every single human beings – capacity to catch on to where our mind is in any moment and reset.  See alternatives.  Gain a different perspective.  Find the lesson in any situation that allows us to grow.

The latest episode of the Simple Reflections Podcast is with my good friend Al Milledge, a Coach who lives on the South Coast, near Eastbourne!

This was a beautiful conversation that gently meanders through a number of topics but starts with Al’s experience of loss in 2024.  He shares his experience, his realisations and the things he’s continuing to learn as his experience unfolds.

You’re going to love this conversation with Dr Johannes Metzler, an Executive Coach from Berlin!

Johannes and I had quite a laugh creating this episode...  While we knew about each other we hadn’t actually met until 5 mins before we hit record.  What followed was everything I thought it would be and more and fits neatly with the idea of “creating impossible futures”.  I knew before we started that we’d have fun and I wasn’t disappointed.

In this episode we discuss we play with the notion that 100% of us are being guided by intuition and that the more open to that, the more open we are to play “all out” in life.  By playing for fun, being open and curious about what we can create from moment to moment we have the capacity to step more lightly through some of the challenges we will inevitably bump in to from time to time.

I’m excited to introduce you to Ankush Jain today!  Ankush and I first met 6 years ago when we were both speaking in a breakout session at the 3PUK conference in London.  Since that point I’ve been watching Ankush’s career go from strength to strength.  While that in itself has been something to behold, it’s his passion and driver behind that that I’ve become more interested in: his mission to raise the consciousness of the planet by up-levelling the coaching industry!  Ankush is a hugely successful life and business coach/consultant, proud father, published author, podcast host and public speaker.

In this episode we discuss the idea of staying on the path and getting to the desired destination.  However, the path is something you are drawn to rather than driven; a knowing rather than a striving.  Ankush quoted a line from Marianne Williamson’s ‘A return to love’;

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us…”.

I encourage you to get curious and see how you might be keeping your light from the world!

I have a treat for you today… Nick Bottini is a coach and author working with high performing members of the music industry.  Nick is a jazz musician himself and obviously brings his musical experience into his coaching… but what’s interesting is the parallel we can all draw in life that fix our views in certain areas.  What I enjoyed most about our conversation is that Nick and I did not know each other before we hit record but we both felt like we’d picked up an old friendship… I am noticing that more and more in my interactions with people and it’s hugely exciting!

In this episode we discuss the idea of following the breadcrumbs laid out in front of us with curiosity.  We also play with the idea that seeing things with a clear state of mind and being more relaxed with ideas doesn’t lead to a lack of drive or a lack of dedication, but more that we don’t see “the grind” leading to the outcome!  It’s ore a case of not having thinking about the process and being all in with it at the same time.

Harriet Hancock is a senior leader in the justice and immigration sector who has found that coaching from a Three Principles based perspective has enabled her to be a more grounded, capable and supportive leader.  Harriet and I have known each other for a few years now, having crossed paths through One Thought.  We’ve always found it interesting that as leaders with fairly complex and hostile working environments that we’ve both been drawn to look in the same direction to be of greater service.

In this episode… which includes an unavoidable technical hitch (sorry)… we discuss the place of simplicity in complex environments.  We also discuss the role curiosity plays for leaders and their teams to be able to tap in to their innate clarity and creativity.

Harriet paraphrased two quotes, as like me, she can’t rely on being able to nail them word for word but we both know we can convey the sentiment.  However, I thought I’d share them with you here:

Harriet and I are both firm believers in both these statements and relish the opportunity to help people realise them for themselves.

Lynne Brannigan is a coach based in Spain with over 20 years’ experience, who has relatively recently discovered the Three Principles.  I had the absolute pleasure of being paired up with Lynne during a coaching course we did together last year with Jamie Smart.  During the 9 months and beyond we have had regular, light hearted and fun catch ups and I wanted you to be able to experience some of that.

Jen Elleray is Three Principles Coach based in Cumbria in the UK.  You may recognise the name after last episode with Dave Elleray because Jen is the other half of a coaching practice called Freedom Thinking.  Jen was an very shy, anxious 23 year old when she came across the Principles in 2005.  Since then she’s gone on to train 100's of people, speak at conferences and help in troubled parts of the world.
 
 In this episode Jen and I discuss how our role as coaches is to draw out what is already in our clients and to do our best to see what is already working well.  We are also joined by Jen and Dave’s 2.5 year old daughter, Lucia.  We touch on how some of the best learning we do is unlearning, or subtractive in nature; ie seeing that what we have learned in the past may not serve us.  Interestingly, that process feels truthful/fresh as if we’ve always known it, hence the fact that we are our best teachers.
