Let's learn Chinese language and Chinese culture through Slow Chinese Podcast.

Have you tried Chinese food? Most Chinese food smell and taste so good and many people fall in love with China because of its food. But there are exceptions. Some food stink terribly and you might want to cover your nose immediately once you smell it. If you have the courage to try, you probably will never regret because they actually taste delicious! In today's episode, let's find out what stinky food Chinese people like and I hope that will increase your appetite instead of reducing it!

  • EP05 1.412 billion! What do we know about China's latest census? (Slow Chinese Listening Practice - Intermediate Level)

    中国人口的流动越来越频繁,

    人们的住房条件越来越好,

    年轻人在结婚后,离开父母独立居住等。

    尽管中国的人口数量增长变慢,人口质量却有了极大的提升。

    在每10万的中国人中,大概有15000人有大学的学历,而2010年还不到9000人;

    男性人口仍然多于女性人口,男女比例为105.07:100,

    跟2010年的数据比,稍微下降了一点。

    这些数据将对中国未来的人口和经济政策调整提供重要参考。

    中国的人口学家表示,这些数据意味着,

    中国可能会加快退休改革, 比如提高退休年龄;

    或者采取更多鼓励生育的措施。

(Yìqíng shíqī de shāobǐng diàn)

How does a Shaobing stall stay strong during the pandemic

As we know, the pandemic has damaged many industries, especially restaurants. Failing to adapt to the new norm has pushed many restaurants to close down. Some small caterers, on the other hand, may find it easy to adapt and develop. Let's hear the story of a small Shaobing stall in New York City, and see how did two women selling baked flatbread with delicious feelings survive the pandemic.

The former president of the United States, Mr. Trump visited Beijing in 2017 and arguably the admiration for him in China peaked since then.
