For us socialisation is all about building positive, calm associations in the face of distractions like other dogs that are oh so exciting, and to help with this, the number one concept that we tackle from day one is disengagement. 

Ensuring your puppy is having lots of good experiences is down to you by setting them up for success (training for the situation, not in the situation) controlling the controllable and knowing when and being OK with saying no as you know your puppy better than anyone else.
