In this brand new week of biscuit competition, Lisa and Allison dig into the controversial American baker, Jeff, and his unceremonial exodus mid-challenge. Allison questions Lisa about Viennese whirls, and the bakers' interesting flavor choices-- Powdered rhubarb, yay or nay?
And finally, Lisa, the Michiana Queen of Gingerbread gives her opinions on the week's best biscuit showstoppers.

The original pastry week gives the girls life as they rehash this episode's highs and lows. Allison highlights the seafood pie as potentially the worst pie while Lisa defends the British savory pie as a staple. Allison admits to not knowing the Cornwall pasty was British, and, a soggy bottom drinking game is proposed.
Lots of informal bakes to discuss as well as a ther challenging canapés and tartlet showstopper.
The very first pastry week!

Lisa gets very enthusiastic about the very Britishness of this episode. There are lots of cut- aways to Mel and Sue giving the girls lots of side stories to serve.
With a signature pudding challenge, Lisa gets fired up not only about all the sticky toffee puddings, but also the blandness of pears in Edd's walnut pear pud. Allison yawns at the lemon souffle technical, but does remind Lisa to 'figure eight' fold-in her egg whites. There's a true history lesson regarding school lunches that get Lisa sharing all the snacks she's served her students in recent years, and both girls give their review of eliminated baker David.

Lisa and Allison hash and rehash all of the very first bread week offerings. Lisa gives her thoughts on one baker's signature foccacia, and explains her love of anchovies on pizza, and the existence of the tiny fish in Worcestershire sauce. Allison brings up the Paul Hollywood 'helping hands' portion of the show, and reminisces about an old episode of Seinfeld. Both girls poo poo the extensive 6 hour show stopper time limit, and, another baker once again, bites the dust.

Going RETRO to the original season 1 of GBBO! Having lost 2 bakers week one, two more bakers are on the line this week. Lisa can't get over the addition of 7 times too much sugar by baker Louise. The girls thoroughly discuss her signature biscuit failures. When baker Miranda finely decorates her vanilla iced biscuits, Allison rememberd to point out the talents of Rahul, and his amazingly detailed bakes on Instagram. Both Lisa and Allison are unimpressed with the plain scone technical, and compare it to the current day challenges of the bake off. In this episode, Mel visits a man who has paid $4,000 for a hard biscuit from a famous exploration of the North Pole. This sends the girls down several side street biscuit discussions.
