"Husbands love your wives just as Christ loves the Church and gave His life for her..." "...In this same way husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies." (Ephesians 5:25)
In this episode, Donna Wayles, author and domestic abuse survivor shares her story. Our conversation centered around how to spot red flags, spousal abuse, and how it's handled by the church.
Donna writes about her experience in her book "I'll Pray For You: A Christian Woman's Guide to Surviving Domestic Violence".
Donna's bio:I am a wife, mom, teacher and domestic abuse survivor. My book chronicles my escape after years of abuse by my Christian husband to finding that God gives happier ever afters. I now live in Rhode Island with my four very spoiled bunnies, Skittles the cat, and my amazing husband and daughter. When I'm not writing or teaching I love to craft and create scrapbooks full of happy family memories.
As someone who has experienced domestic violence myself, I found this interview difficult. Unfortunately, domestic violence is very common. And not only in marital relationships.
