  • Episode 16: Ross Robinson (Record Producer / Engineer / Rad Human)
Daniel P Carter speaks to record producer Ross Robinson, an innovator with a unique approach to making albums, who has recorded the likes of The Cure, Slipknot, Blood Brothers, Korn, Glassjaw, Norma Jean, Limp Bizkit, Klaxxons, Cancer Bats, Red Fang, Headwound City etc etc.His outlook / approach to making albums is a spiritual and esoteric one that has produced some groundbreaking albums that altered the course of heavy music as a whole.Sound quality on this one may be a little quiet because even though I EQ'ed out some of the background noise, I found that if I raised the levels too much the sound of the sea and assorted background became quite intrusive, so get your headphones on and enjoy...The painting I made of Ross for the cover was actually my second attempt, the other one seemed to have lost its way a bit, but I think this one sums it up well.Shout out to Monkeybird for helping this one come about. Also shout out to Carl. Carl is cool.As always, a review on iTunes is greatly appreciated as would be a 5 star rating. This thing is a labour of love so a little love back goes a long way. Thanks!

  • Episode 15: Benjamin Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan / Giraffe Tongue Orchestra / Partysmasher inc.)
Benjamin Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan talks with Daniel P Carter. What was initially intended as a discussion about the bands new album 'Dissociation' quickly turned into a reflection on the bands career and what it would mean to make the decision to end a 20+ year long career and walk away leaving the bands legacy in great form, with a critically acclaimed body of work. You can follow the Ben online here:Twitter: @dillingerescplnInstagram: @benweinmanThe band can be found online at: http://www.dillingerescapeplan.org/Please pick up their new album 'Dissociation', because aside from being their last will and testament, it is a fantastic album.Go and see them play if they are touring near you. They are incredible.Dan can be found online here:@danielpcarter (Twitter & Instagram)My portrait of Ben is oil, acrylic, Spray paint and pencil in a Moleskine sketchbook, thats like 7" square I guess. At the time of the podcast he had a huge black eye where he'd been clocked in the face by Greg's microphone. I wanted to paint him with it for posterity. Seemed appropriate. And if you were expecting the Manson / Twiggy podcast, dont sweat it, it'll happen in the future and it'll be rad. Please subscribe and leave a nice review on iTunes. Thanks.Peace.
