Continuing in the sermon series in Acts, today we read and discuss chapter 9, verses 1-30, the conversion of Saul.

Pastor Kevin invites us to observe the power of the gospel. When God chooses a person and they hear the gospel that person can do a complete 180 degree change in their life. Saul was actively pursuing and persecuting those who believed in Jesus Christ, but on the road to Damascus Jesus appeared to him and set his life on a new path.

If you have experienced the life transforming power of the gospel are you still asking, "Lord, what do you want me to do?"

Pastor Kevin shares the story in Acts today of Phlip sharing the gospel with the Ethiopian. Phlip proved to be a willing servant used by God to convert this person that God put in his path. Does this challenge you? Are you ready and willing to share the gospel with whoever God may put in your path?

Brother Bill is preaching again today, continuing on in 1st Peter 1:13-23.

We are called to live and conduct ourselves with holiness. In response to life's inconveniences we should remember that we have been redeemed by the blood of Christ and are now set apart. We must control our thinking, direct our thoughts to God and respond accordingly. God allows these trials to help us grow and change; to help us walk more closely to Him in a way that honors and glorifies Him.

Our message today is from Brother Bill. He is preaching on 1 Peter 1:3-9.

Peter is telling the Christians of Rome under persecution how the eternal realities they have in Christ can help them face their struggles and sufferings. We also can learn to focus our minds on the eternal realities we have in Christ to help change our response to our trials and sufferings.

Today we are in Acts 8 and learning about how the church in Jerusalem was under persecution, but the church continued to grow.

Philip went to Samaria and continued to preach the gospel. Many of the Samaritans heard the gospel and believed and were baptized.

Is the Word of God continuing to spread through you? How are you helping to advance the gospel message?

Would you describe yourself as courageous? In our text from Acts today we hear how Stephen courageously shared the message of Jesus Christ and was killed because of it.

Are you living a life that is consistent with your testimony? Do your life choices show that you're a follower of Jesus?

As we continue on to chapter 6 of Acts today we notice that the first church is learning to change and meet new needs as they arise. Pastor Kevin tells us why this was important then and why its important now. As a body of believers in an active church its vital that the church is willing to make changes as the needs of the body of the church change.

Think about how committed you are to having a spirit of service. How willing and prepared are you to serving God and others?

Continuing on in Acts chapter 5 today. Pastor goes through the story of the Apostles and their peresecution by the Sanhedrin. The apostles had been jailed, warned to stop preaching the gospel and beaten, yet they continued to declare the gospel to all who would listen.

What do you think you would have done? How willing are we to share the gospel even when we haven't been imprisoned, beaten or threated?

We are back to our Acts sermon series, today we are going over the events in Acts 5 verses 1-16.
