As we stated last week, no one teaches us how to have, difficult conversations, and as a result, many of our relationships suffer. If you’ve listened to What Would You Do Part 1, you may have an idea of what WE would do but for WWYD, Part 2, Elle, Em, Mel-J & Kenzie Double DOWN and get into more messy situations and discuss what our reactions would be. Again, these scenarios are designed to force you into having burdensome discussions so you can think about how YOU would or should respond and at the end of this episode, Em has really practical, Sooo…Lutions we review, that can help you prepare to have difficult conversations. Don’t forget to head over to our Instagram, for a visual link to this week’s Sooo…Lutions!

WWYD?? We have ALL been in situations where a difficult conversation needs to take place and even though it's an inevitability, (you can't go through life without having hard convos, no matter how hard may try!) it's not a skill that is easily acquired! In this week's episode, Elle, Em, Mel-J and Kenzie are presented with tough scenarios, covering all areas of life, from sex, family secrets and workplace mishaps! Each co-host offers up their honest opinion on what they would do and say, however, these scenarios are designed to force you to have an arduous discussion and although, as always, we have lots of laughs, 1 scenario in particular gets really deep and that's why this is PART 1! We do have an interesting Listener Letter this week, so make sure to stick around until the end. Our Sooo...Lutons & Sources will be available in our Part 2 where we will get into how to have difficult conversations successfully!

Self, Self, Self! It's like you can't escape people talking about self! To those of us from Gen-X or the Caribbean it almost seems like a violation because we've been taught NOT to focus on one's self too much because that meant you were vain and selfish but that couldn't be farther from the truth! Focusing on yourself, in a good way, can lead to growth, fulfilment and you can fix those areas in your life that have been causing roadblocks in your career and relationships! There is no better place to start than with your #selfesteem! Join Elle, Em, Mel-J and Kenzie as they discuss some interesting facts, define and discuss how #selfesteem and their lack of it has affected their lives as individuals and what they did to build up their self-esteem! Our Sooo...Lutions were brought to us by Em and we have a very cute and actionable guide you can see on our Instagram so make sure to check us out there for that take-away that will help you as you increase your self-esteem!

We’ve talked about #sex in 2020 and we’ve discussed what we think you should know before you get #married but this week, we are getting into the Dating Do’s and Don’ts! Elle, Em, Mel-J and Kenzie offer up advice from their own experiences the good, the bad and the ugly and somehow end up sidetracked on a mini-debate on if what you are wearing is helping or hurting you when it comes to attracting the right mate! Don’t worry, as with all of our discussions we always come to a deeper understanding and we always learn and grow from our conversations and so will you! Make sure to listen until the very end as the co-host gets their minds blown by a discovery Em has made and we believe this perspective will help you be more aware of what to look out for while you are #dating! Sooo…there are no Sooo…Lutions or listener letter because this week, we have fun but get DEEP with this conversation Sooo...basically the entire episode is a Sooo...Lution! Be sure to tell us what your thoughts are!

Have you listened to a few episodes and not understood the lingo? Confused why the co-hosts sound like Drake? (ummm what's wrong with you! lol) Well, this week Elle, Em, Mel-J and Kenzie discuss what it was like growing up in a homogeneous society (the GTA or the Six or if your normal, Greater Toronto Area :) with immigrants parents. Being black is not a monolithic experience and we often hear about what life is like for our US brothers/sisters however; we have our own experiences to share! Join us for this hilarious discussion on how having immigrant parents have affected our youth, speech and life outlook and learn the difference between the immigration ideologies of Canada vs.US and how it affects how we view cultural appropriation vs cultural appreciation.
