Our dreams reveal so much about our authentic selves, including our worries, anxieties, hopes, dreams, and the thoughts/feelings that we suppress during our wakeful state. Tune in to learn more about the physiological and psychological function of dreams. Practice Exercise (from Kathleen A. Brehony’s “Awakening at Midlife”):
After recording your dream in a journal, ask yourself these three questions:
Why did I have this dream now?
What issues in the dream are ones that I’m currently dealing with in my waking life?
What conscious attitude is being compensated for by the dream? Meaning what attitudes or feelings are you suppressing during your waking life that are coming up in your dreams.
