Today - a new $43,560 state grant will allow the Mansfield Police Department to add 24 additional body cameras for officers according to Chief Keith Porch. The award is part of the $4.8 million that’s been awarded statewide through the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant. It’ll allow the MPD to buy 24 additional body cameras and more kiosk docking stations, upping its total to 40 cameras and seven charging stations.
Also, from KnoxPages - Knox County Health Commissioner Julie Miller has announced she will retire next year. Miller announced her retirement to the Knox County Board of Health during the group’s recent meeting. Her last day will be July 1st.
