🌧️ Rain clusters have brought relief to key Brazilian soybean areas, improving crop conditions. However, a drier pattern is expected in the first half of next week before more rain returns from New Year's holiday through January 4th or 5th.
🇦🇷 Recent rainfall has benefited Argentina's soybean crop, with 91% of planted acres receiving optimal moisture. The corn crop, with 59% of planted acres, is also in good to very good condition.
🌾 The latest USDA drought monitor data shows ongoing drought conditions in several US regions, affecting corn, soybeans, wheat, and cattle. Some areas in the Midwest experienced worsening drought conditions due to above-normal temperatures and dry weather.
🚢 Traffic through the Panama Canal has not increased, despite Houthi attacks disrupting Red Sea travel. The Panama Canal previously limited vessel traffic due to low water levels but increased its daily transits earlier this month.
🌽 US corn export sales declined last week, while soybean sales were strong, boosted by recent flash sales. Wheat sales were down, with Mexico as the largest buyer for the week.
📈 The November Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index (PCE index) is expected to rise 0.1% on a monthly basis and 3.3% annually. The Federal Reserve is expected to begin cutting rates as early as March.
