Wow, that’s inconvenient! I learned about this simple reminder many years ago. And, let’s just say it’s stuck. Reminding myself that life gets inconvenient, and to not sweat the small stuff, has saved me mentally and physically. Next time somebody cancels your meeting or doesn’t show up, or when someone makes a mistake, try reminding yourself that it’s inconvenient. Tune in to learn why doing so may be really, really good for your health and wellbeing.

This too. This too is raw material to wake me up! I love this simple reminder and, honestly, this reframe. It’s a way of remembering that every moment can wake us up or make us go back asleep. It can help us stay alert and aware or can dull us and separate us. I encourage you to remember this reminder when in traffic, with a whiny child, partner or boss, etc. This too is raw material to help me wake up.

Have you heard of the parable of the Chinese farmer? It’s about not quickly labeling highs and lows as good news or bad news. I find this such a gem to carry with me in my pocket during the day. This is a great reminder. We never truly know why things work out the way they do. Instead of riding on the roller coaster of life we can proclaim— Good new? Bad news? I don’t know!
