Vulnerability and dirt: what do they have in common?
That’s exactly the question Erika Nordfelt answers on the newest episode of Speaking to Shame! 🎉
Erika is our in-house Shame Slayer, and in this, her second STS episode, she lives up to that title. As a licensed therapist, she adds value in not only her jokes (which are many), but also in her eight years of clinical work in Eastern Idaho.
This episode is jam-packed with tools, relatability, vulnerability, and authenticity. And as always, we speak to the shame we all carry. 🔧🧡✨
Like Erika says, “if you’re inclined to this journey of vulnerability, trust that it can enhance your life. Vulnerability is an integral element to living a valuable, meaningful life.”

When Emily and Nathan lost their way to each other, vulnerability saved them.
In this episode of STS, I interview my husband Nathan about our near-divorce in the summer of 2020.
Now, over a year later, we are healing and growing! Though, the role shame played in our heartbreak was undeniable.
With time and lots of shame resilience work, we’re able to see much clearer the paths that lead us to where we ended up, and the shame that was our companion along the way.
We hope our story brings light to the deeply personal experience of marital struggle that countless others live through. 🧡

We do the mom things; what about feeling the mom feelings? 💔
If you've ever felt shame about your output as a mom or your enjoyment of motherhood, this is the podcast for you. 🧡
Join me as I speak to Delaney Monahan of @mothersformothers_ about the shame surrounding mental health in motherhood, and the community of support that Delaney is building for mothers. ✨
While Delaney and I are trained professionals in fields like Social Work, Behavioral Intervention, and Relationship Coaching, we still didn't "have the answer" to avoiding postpartum mood disorders.
The shame we both carried from not immediately loving motherhood helped move us in our current direction; one of seeking and supporting other mothers who feel forgotten and lacking. 🧡
Delaney is a trained social worker, passionate about supporting moms through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. She loves facilitating women's circles and holding space for women to reflect on their journey, grow from their experiences, and harness their power. Delaney lives in Chicago with her 2-year-old son and 13-year-old rescue cat. She loves coffee, late night porch chats, and a good true crime podcast while power walking.
