Tired of waiting, a team of specialists have resorted to DIY and drafted their own anti slavery law, in the hope that MP's will support it. The team included modern slavery and human trafficking and legal experts from World Vision and the ANZ bank. The bill defines modern slavery as exploititive or forced labour, forced prostitution and child labour, debt bondage or the trafficking of people. If passed into law, it would mean companies with revenue over of 50 million, have to report any exloitation risks in their international operations and supply chains, as well as declaring acutal incidents of modern slavery and what they're doing to stop it.
