Ursula Sabia Sukinik is the Founder and CEO of Birth You Desire®, a leading doula collective serving families in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Phoenix, Arizona, and virtually nationwide.

A doula since 1999, Ursula brings more than 27 years of experience supporting families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. She is a certified childbirth educator, full-spectrum doula, birth assistant, doula trainer, author, and public speaker. Throughout her career, she has supported thousands of families and personally attended more than 1,600 births.

Ursula has particular expertise in supporting families navigating IVF pregnancies, pregnancy over age 35, complex birth decisions, and labor inductions. Her approach combines evidence-based education with each family's individual values, preferences, and goals. Rather than telling families what decisions to make, she helps them understand their options, ask informed questions, and participate confidently in their care.

One of Ursula's greatest strengths is helping families navigate labor and birth without fear of the unknown. She is especially skilled at preparing clients for inductions by explaining what may happen, exploring available options, and helping families think creatively when circumstances change. Her goal is to take away the element of surprise while helping clients maintain agency and autonomy throughout the birth process.

As the founder of Birth You Desire®, Ursula has built and led teams of birth and postpartum professionals serving families locally, nationally, and internationally. Beyond her direct client work, she is a respected mentor, trainer, and thought leader within the birth community. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of doulas to provide compassionate, ethical, evidence-informed, and family-centered care.

Ursula is also a maternal health advocate and speaker whose work addresses informed consent, perinatal mental health, reproductive health, and family-centered maternity care. Special guest episode, Pilli Cortese is a documentary producer, filmmaker, yoga teacher, and mother whose journey to motherhood challenged everything she thought she knew about biology, timing, and possibility.

At 44, she met the love of her life in what felt like a magical twist of fate. He was 21 years younger than her, and they met on a date that would later become deeply significant: 7.11.

A few years later, after losing two pregnancies and approaching her 50th birthday, Pilli was faced with a difficult reality. If she wanted to become a mother, she would need to let go of her attachment to genetics and embrace egg donation.

As the COVID pandemic brought the world to a standstill, she and her partner continued pursuing what many would have considered impossible. Along the way, she began exploring spirit babies, conscious conception, intuition, faith, and what she calls "believing beyond logic."

Throughout the entire experience, she filmed everything in a very raw authentic way.
