Some people are paralyzed by their indecision about staying or going. They have an eternal argument in their minds about "what's right" and how to reconcile their spiritual beliefs with the abuse they see and feel.

It is never right to be abused, or to allow someone to be continuously abusive towards you. That is nothing like love!!!
